Super Rugby 2020

We will have to wait and see what happens in 2021. This have been the case many times previously and I am sure that SARU will want to avoid any criticism. Just see how things went with Eddie Jones back in 2015/16, rumour this and that, deny this and that, and it happened.

Just strange how Rassie needed to get on Twitter to give reassurance. Looks exactly like a PR exercise.

SARU's plan is already set into motion, all Rassie is doing is managing the policy.

Not saying it can't happen, but I don't imagine it happening before RWC 2023. He will want to take Jacques with him I'm sure and I doubt he will throw Jacques name under the bus after he just committed to the Boks himself.

So at minimum I think they will stick it out until after RWC 2023, but I could be wrong.

I can read, why post anything when you know its FAKE?

It is a rumour, and also rumour that people want to be silenced. Only 2021 will tell where Rassie is going to, whether it is England, staying with the Springboks or plying his trade somewhere else or change in career. SARU still needs to extend his contract come 2021, whether this will be renewed under new terms or amended.

Things change.

I see that the ethnic Japanese players in the Sunwolves training squad have all been promoted to the playing squad. Verblitz also released a spare scrummie to be used by the Sunwolves.

Only Panasonic and Toyota are willing to participate in Super Rugby, and only one Japanese player is really top tier. An interesting thing about the Sunwolves, though a hired legion most are second division Japanese club rugby players.

At least their coaching team is about 85% Japanese. They can do with the experience. I also read last week that Jamie Joseph is already having issues with the JRFU as they have no interest in domestic growth.

No disrespect to Rassie, the man is a genius and a champion.

However as a patriotic Englishman, I do not want him playing any role in English rugby whatsoever.

So let’s hope this is fake news.

The 7 Nations have also been thoroughly dismissed. SANZAAR according to New Zealand will stay unchanged and everything will continue as is in 2024.

Did the Associated Newspapers create this sensation or did these discussions take place?

Nonetheless, World Rugby made sure these rumours are now dead. Best to wait and see what happens in 2021 and 2204.

As far as I know he has a 6 year contract as DOR, it has always been DOR from the start he just assumed a coaching role for his first 2 years. That means his contract expires end of 2023.

Good game, Well done Stormers. Please Lions give Dillon Smit the no.9 jersey for the rest of the season.

Ace ending! Wow.

Just when you thought it was all over...well into injury time, Ruhan Nel scores coming in at an angle and takes a brilliant handoff near the far side to go over and seal the game with a self converted try 33-30 for the Stormers.

Poor Jantjies, man of the match though...and well deserved.

Stormers over powered the Lions and should have been more dominant and finished off the game earlier. Stormers to carry the SA flag this year. Lost a lot of players through injury, but the youngsters still performing.

Lions too inexperienced and looks a little light

Dammit, why was the Sharks game so early? Aussie games are never that early.

Great game by them. Sean Everitt seems to be doing good work over there. Someone like Notshe who meandered his way through his Stormers stint is looking in sublime form all of a sudden. They really have a good bunch of players all gelling. If they stay fit and firing, they could easily usurp the Stormers for honours in the SA conference.

I'm not counting my chickens. The Sharks have a tendency to impload when things are going well. But I'm thrilled with the tour we had, hopefully more wins to follow
