Be warned: Neotel is dishonest. Like many others I've been billed for 3000 megabytes for a 2,5 Gig Neoconnect Prime account I've hardly used. My usage pattern is lower than normal if anything, and on Vodacom 500 megs was enough. There's no way I've used even the 2500 megs I paid for. Every time I connect, the usage figures on the neoconnect manager window show a rapidly escalating usage of about 2megs per minute, even when I'm not on the Net. What are they charging me for? The billings moron suggested I go uncapped (in other words pay more). Is that their scam?

You can't offer someone 2500 megs a month for a fee, not supply it, get paid, and not be guilty of fraud, no matter what the fine print. I advise anyone else in the same boat to ignore the call centre game, cancel the debit order, and wait for them to get back to YOU.

Are background applications downloading updates eg. antivirus, programs, windows update, etc.? If not, you need to install a network monitoring software suite to find out which application is sucking up your bandwidth.

And why was this not happening on Vodacom's 3G my meg 500? (Same programmes).

Download NetLimiter 2. It shows your total usage over the month and also what program is using bandwidth at the moment. This should show you if you got some program downloading updates

And use viper firewall to block every app, system and open ports. They are not scaming you, you should learn to network right... Download some ebooks on N+ and network security. When my pc is idel I have no up or downloads on my system other than 0,01 kbps that keeps my con alive.

I use bandwidth meter pro, set it to start with windows, logs and any all traffic via your network ports or dialups etc...

I only log Neotel though.
