Been to Willoughby's on numerous occasions and TBH, find their sushi very rich and extremely pricey. I also find no appeal of sitting in a mall with people squashed together like sardines. So, for the price, value for money and not having to have strangers knocking into me, I find Asami great value and a better atmosphere.

I tried both, even went to look for some "low sodium" soya sauce but at R105 a 750ml bottle - I prefer the headache

Find a chinese place. There is a chinese supermarket at N1 city in Cape Town that sells Kikkomans - R72 for like 1.6l IIRC. low sodium was R90 for R1.6l. There was an even better bulk deal for 6l of kikkomans.

Isn't that the place where the owner said that his rental contract has come to an end and he was not renewing it because it has skyrocketed. He did say he was going to possibly open a new place after taking a bit of a break.
