Suspended Icasa head gets pay increase

So, if you ever wanted to know why the Rand struggles against other currencies, just think how government and national businesses in those countries view this kind of news.
The smart business people read the news, the stupid business people make the news. Smart business people know where NOT to invest their money.

'Icasa faces a high staff turnover and is unable to attract and retain skilled staff. More than 10 senior managers have left in the past few months and Icasa is yet to fill those positions. Part of the inability of attract and retain staff was because of the low salaries offered.'

'The audit report also highlighted that the human resources division failed to implement proper performance evaluation system and this resulted in performance bonuses amounting to R2.4 million being paid to all workers.'

Unless I missed something, this is somewhat of a contradiction? Maybe all the 'bonuses' went to a select few, and hence the others left, truly due to poor pay. What a mess.

i think profits are when companies attract customers to buy a product they want, not when the customers are having some crap shoved up their ass when, they have already paid for the f..ing product, the salaries of the assholes who work there, and, those who were subcontracted, along with immediate family and friends, to make the f..ing thing.

Chairman Paris Mashile told the portfolio committee on communications in June that Icasa would need another R57.7 million over the first two years of the implementation of the Electronics Communications Act, including the incorporation of the postal regulator.

Does anyone have any confidence that ICASA will ever be competent enough to implement the ECA???

Give ICASA R0.00 of tax payer's money & once Paris' gravy-train grinds to a halt, sack all the passengers & start afresh without the gravy-train!!!

Last week cabinet appointed five councillors, including former councillor Mamodupi Mohlala. The others are Andrew Barendse, Robert Nkuna, Brenda Ntombela and Kobus van Rooyen.

I missed that, but not at all surprised that Ivy's pets got appointed...

I don't have a good memory where assholes are involved but I assume the above have gleaming accomplishments in communications (other than talking crap on their mobiles) and a severe regimen of acedemic studies in the field, similiar to the other over-qualified members of the anc self-enrichment team that run the country? The overseas business community must be agog at the accomplishments, companies with a balance sheet to scare Greenspan into submission, but with salary increases that rival Zimbabwe's inflation.
I want a job with these people. I can learn to screw people, I swear.
