SUV choices

That Mazda CX5 is a nice car, but it is very low. If that doesn't bother you then it's a great car.

Yeah but it handles very well, very car like. So that's the tradeoff. It's fine for climbing the curb and dirt roads, urban bundu bashing

I see there's nothing under R250k for a 2013 or newer with low mileage. The only cheaper option is the duster and compass and both haven't really been suggested here

Duster is a nice car, but it's a "car" - too small to be considered an "SUV"

Ok but how does it compare to a crv, tiguan etc. I know it's offloading is good but as a family car

VW Touareg...

They are actually relatively reasonably priced second hand. And from everything I've read they're pretty much bulletproof as well.

Just stay away from the V10 ones like below.... Mostly because I've heard that they had to shoehorn the engine into that engine bay and they only way to do a service is pretty much take the engine out... :)

If you are coming from a X1 it's going to feel...unrefined. Depends what you put value to. CRV and Tiguan will be more comfortable and reliable. Why are you selling the X1?

CX-5 would be the best but good luck finding one new or 2nd hand.
