SUV choices

Meh. I'll rather listen to the people that actually own Dusters in the context of this thread.

So you'll make your decision based on the experience on 2-4 people that have dusters in this thread. That's genius, Jimmy! There's a guy at the start of this thread that said to get the Jeep. I bet he got the 1 good Jeep out of 1000. Good advice that, ye? LoL, what a laugh.

There's a lot of GWM's on the road, doesn't make it a good car. Compared to the alternatives mentioned here, the duster is probably the least reliable, with the worst after sales service of the lot. You buy it cause it's cheap.

You again...you are like the Roux of anti-French cars...how's that armchair doing hey

No you just trump it up to something it's not. I'm not saying it's absolute horse****e, but it's not in the same class as the other mentioned cars. Why do you think it's so much cheaper? For one, it's not the same quality. And 2, because if they make it the same price as the competition, they won't sell.

No offense buddy but I'm not getting into a weak/poor argument here.

It's clear from a while back & other posts that *your* perception is that all French cars are pretty much crappy...so you can keep your 90's perception to your self. I highly doubt what I say will change that...

If you look at my previous post (please feel free), you'll see the quote: "It's not that French are manufactured inherently poorly, but the after-sales service is so poor in South Africa that you take a risk in buying one. It breaks, and they won't necessarily fix it properly."

However, it depends on context. If you compare Honda or Subaru with French cars, the French car is terrible quality in comparison. If you compare VW with a French car, probably relatively similar, but the French car's after sales service is crap. Which makes VW the better buy.

P.S since you want to go on about weak arguments. Let me show you how silly you are.

VW outsells Renault more than 400%. Yet when you look at complaints on hellopter, they only have 138% more complaints.
Toyota, the top seller in the country, has almost half the complaints of Renault. Yet they sell 450% more cars. Shouldn't be hard to deduce from those figures who sells the better car.

Figures don't lie.

My brother owns a Duster and it actually looks decent, but not my cup of tea. I will be on the look out next year for an suv myself.

I'm looking specifically at the BMW X5 3L Diesel 2009 and upwards. Price wise it's within my budget, but I'm just worried about replacement costs as it's bmw. From which year model is motor plan and service/warranty plan still available. What problems, maintenance or general issues is there with the x5.

Was also looking at the Ix35, but they flooded on the roads. The VW Tiguan I also had in mind, but VW is normally overpriced.

You can't compare sales like that, VW is much bigger and has way more cars to choose from. Passenger cars: VW: 19, Renault : 7. Also if you look at hellopeter Customer Feedback and Analysis for the last 12 months the figures are more or less the same 86-87% vs. 13-14%, for both companies

O what a dope. VW sells more and has relatively less complaints to the volumes they sell. That's how the comparison was made. Responses like this gives me cancer.

Your "comparison" gives me more than cancer, friend.
