I had a Suzuki Ertiga as "rental" last week. My first time ever driving a Suzuki. It was new with 360km only on the clock. I used it between King Shaka airport and Cathedral Peak Hotel and surrounds.

My experience is it is the build quality of a Tata, flimsy and a rattlebox of note. Roadholding is a horror with the car prone to wander all over the road and is severely affected by wind.

Lastly, it is way underpowered and lethargic with a ridiculous fuel consumption of 7.7 l/100km considering it is a "modern" 1500 cc engine developing very few 'pony' power.

I am very disappointed what R300k can buy ito a Suzuki!

Told you long ago that Suzukis are crap. Swift, Baleno, Fronx, Grand vitara all underpowered overpriced plastic crap. I honestly dont know how people spend money on those.

I am getting a rental later today, I hope I can get a swift just to test drive it long term and once again prove to myself why I hate All new Suzukis.

What did you expect for R300k? Toyota quality?
It is bus fare, gets you from point A to point B
You dont need anything more

Demand a Suzuki Super Carry please

I quite like the oil-cooled, cradle-framed classic Gixxers, SRAD, DR BIG and the current 800 Strom.

The gen 1 Vitara V6 was a cool thing too.

Yes, considering how much of platform sharing is happening between Suzuki and Toyota..

The ertiga for example, shares a platform with the Toyota Rumion..

Has anyone test-driven the Suzuki Ertiga and the Toyota Rumion and done a comparison check to spot the differences?

Ertiga is like a Cheap family carrier used across Asia. Its actually popular but we dont get the high end versions of them here.

Suzuki is good. Swift and Baleno. We had a Baleno for a few years without issues. The Toyota Starlet is the rebranded Baleno.

But we had one in Bali which was built in Bekasi, Indonesia.

Perhaps the Indian assembly is worse.
