Switch 2 thread

I wonder if Mig Switch will work on Switch 2?
With backwards compatibility, it should.
If the FW fools the Switch 1 in thinking it is a legal Switch 1 game, then it has to work.

As far as I understand it, it checks for valid cert files and if that is there, it should boot up.

That is my theory but one never knowns if Nintendo bought one and found a way to block it on new Switch.

Most Switch 2 home screens for the first year, maybe first 2 years:

Thats only or 1st time buyers, the rest will be filled with Switch 1 games.

Now for the non sarcasm question. What games are you guys looking to play first?
Maybe BOTW or TOTK with the updated package?

Or port your old Switch data over and test each game?

BOTW not every day you get to experience a game over 3 generations. I might even finish it this time :D

Pattern 'R Us?

LOL and Over EU everyone is celebrating cause the stores are getting "restocked."
I saw a couple of comments on the sold-out signs being removed. Some even talking about limitations being removed eg, invite only.

Today is the day the greatest and best reciprocal tariffs kick in for the US. It's a wonderful thing. We're all going to be wealthy, as all those countries will be paying the tariffs. Nintendo and others will shift their factories to the US and American workers and jobs will be saved. This will help our national security and we will celebrate the spine of steel (tariff free) of The Greatest President in upcoming miltary parades.

While I'm keen to see the upgrades to both BotW and TotK, i've played both of them to death. I've even got all the korok seeds in both of them so really isn't much left to do. Paying the local equivalent of $10 just to basically screw around for an hour or two doesnt seem worth it.

I don't subscribe to NSO+Expansion to get the free upgrade. Maybe I'll subscribe to play Windwaker and justify it that way

I had a couple of run throughs of BOTW, totalling about 500 hours or so, but with TOTK I have been dipping in and out, mainly looking for and solving shrines so still have so much still to do. I've pretty much covered the sky, but have not spend more than a few hours in the underworld, so I'm definitely looking forward to the upgrade.

BOTW On Wii U and Switch I have hundreds of hours each, Still never finished the game. :D

Havent played TOTK. Have it never played it, frame drops got to me. My wIfe finished em both.

The frame rate was definitely noticeable when using ultrahand but it never really bothered me. Even with Echoes of Wisdom when everyone was moaning about the frame rate dips, I never really noticed. Maybe there something wrong with my eyes and brain.

I've technically got stuff to do in both games. Part of the 100% completion is defeating certain monsters around the world but I really couldn't be arsed to do it. If you've killed one Gleeok, don't see the point of killing them all.

The "Just play the OG Switch (you poor people)" could've been sweet. I thought they would:
- Lower price of OG/Lite/OLED. Those things never got a cut in over 7 years.
- Re-Introduce the Nintendo Selects line for the Software @ $20 cheaper.
- NSO price stays the same as it's for both eco-systems.
- Launch $witch 2 at a much more palatable price as the 'premium' option.
- Game prices at Switch OG level which also never gets discounted.
- ???
- Profit!

Loads of Switch OGs for sale now - need that down payment for the switch 2 !

It will serve them right if this thing gets hacked in the first six months and does so as easily as the Switch 1.

I was actually considering modding my Switch after the $witch U reveal... to up the CPU and GPU frequencies to get some framerate upgrades, but I don't smaak having my Switch banned.
