Switch 2 thread

I was lucky in the Netherlands, I was login at one of the local shops and I saw the Switch 2 bundle got available. At first it instantly said out of stock and then 10 minutes later they added another batch and I was able to snag one. The bundle includes, mario kart world, case and steeringwheel lol. I paid 549 euros (R11700) imo still very expensive. I have switch lite and playing BOTW on it was not fun, so I hope on switch 2 it will be a better experience.

Anyone else managed to pre-order one?

We paying scalper pricing in SA so no stock-outs here. Nordics & Americans mostly target other EU markets :D

That said, I did see via Reddit most of the stores in EU refilling. Dont know if its Nintendo allocating USA stock.

Most expensive is Brazil followed by RSA and then Denmark, Finland and friends.

Edit: Sorry Update:
China Indefinitely Delayed
Brazil still waiting for official price
Russia Also still waiting to know if they gonna get it.

I believe in the Netherlands the entry level is 469 euros, but none of those was in stock at all, only those bundles ranging from 510 to 559 euros. And I assume some scalpers already got theirs, because I saw on internet already people posting their purchase and willing to sell for higher prices. for example

I hope you can get one!

There are a lot of half truths running wild online. People still repeat the $90 physical game line but the example they provide is from a European site. Donkey Kong is $70 and only MKW being $80. I've seen it being suggested that it is priced this way to encourage sales of the Switch 2 bundle. I can't see many games being $80.

Then the physical game card...again apparently at $90 with it being nothing more than a digital download, with no actual evidence to this effect. First party Switch 2 games will be on the game card in it's entirety (small day 1 patches aside). Nintendo has wizardry that allows them to fit games on the 32GB card with space to spare. The more expensive card is available for third party publishers to fit their games on should they so choose, and this expense would naturally be passed onto the consumer. The Game-key card isn't necessarily a bad idea if consumers are given the option between digital and purchasing the full game on the card as well. If you think of the Game-key card as a digital game that you can now sell on afterwards, it's a decent idea.

There is plenty to criticise Nintendo for, such as charging for the intruction manual. That is a greedy idea and can't be defended. I feel that Nintendo listened to consumers and provided us with a pretty beefy console. Everyone complains that Nintendo is too underpowered but when they actually provide us with a console that can play the likes of Elden Ring and Cyberpunk, people still complain. The extra tech is obviously going to cost more. $450 is actually not a bad price.

General criticism of the game prices is valid. $70 for certain games is understandable but not for most. I could live with the high prices if Nintendo games ever went on proper sale. BotW is still at full price after 8 years, that is crazy. It has been confirmed that the DLC for the Switch 2 version of BotW is not included. This type of nickel and diming by Nintendo can be criticised.

As a side, having to eventually pay for the C button is also ridiculous.

But social media needs clicks and will latch onto anything with a sensational title to attract eyeballs. There is still a lot of information we just don't know yet

If you compare the Switch 2 to its direct competition, I would say it's well priced:

As for Nintendo Game Prices, I know its a con because of the lack of sales, but if you resell/collect, this ultimately becomes a net positive, as you lose less.

If you only have access to a Switch, then I can see the reason for the complaints. Luckily, we only buy Physical Nintendo exclusives for Switch and digital 3rd party games on other consoles.

From what I've seen people aren't too upset with the price of the hardware, it's more everything else attached to it that reeks of money grabbing. Like the chat/c button thing is ridiculous, imagine MS/Sony did this, they would be roasted alive, never mind the paid for manual which is again, ridiculous.

Games going up was a given too, it's been coming for a while and just a case of who does it first.

TMR sticks are the best sticks out there to date - they are best for FPS or precision type games
