I’ve repeatedly said on this forum I like all things tech hence I participate in this thread.

To answer your Q I got some solid hands-on time with a buddy’s Switch & Super Mario Odyssey + Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which I obviously enjoyed.

I also played MK Deluxe 8 a little :). I also got Splatoon I think but gave up on it.
 
I'm getting quite excited for Switch 2. I still haven't played most of the 1st party Switch games, and with more 3rd party support this time around...think my Switch 2 will get some good usage compared to my Switch 1.

In the meantime I've also ordered the pro controller, and will pick up Super Mario Odyssey soon as well.
 
Sold my Switch Oled a few months ago waiting on the S2 but I just can't justify the price. 13k for the console is OK but damn R1800 for a game? GTFO. I was thinking of giving up PC gaming but bought a 9070xt and went all in on steam and game pass. I also have a Steam Deck so I have handheld covered and 3rd party games on steam is way cheaper.

Also excited to migrate everything across to a Switch 2 to mod my lite, play games I do not have funds for now.

My next purchase in August will be a Pro controller 2, before Tokyo Drift sets in.

Waiting on Pokemon ZA and Witchbrook.

Maybe those of us who purchase it early can get a Switch 2 Ambassador program, ref to

My daughter visited this weekend and already wanted to take ownership of OG Switch.

Mrs went with a sold nope, can only have it the day the new one is up and running. :D

Same reason I did it to be honest. Switch 1 never saw a price drop did it? The other consoles just keep going up in price and if it's any indication then yea, Switch 2 might get pricier in the future so might as well bite the bullet now.

Switch got a price drop in the US, just not here. COVID was a great excuse to hike up the price

OG Nintendo Switch Launched for
R5600 (2017) in RSA, went up to
R8000 (2021), then dropped to (I think the R8000 price was when the second edition dropped?)
R7500 (2021) when the OLED replaced it at R8000
OG is now back at R8000 and the OLED went up to R9500.

Yea, point is...the days of consoles getting cheaper throughout the generation are gone :)
 
Anyone in the UK know of any outlets who have pre-orders still available?
