Something tells me, we're gonna be fighting over the Switch 2.

Season 35 drops a day after the Switch.
 
I see preorders are still available on Takealot.

They must have a sizeable allotment, or they aren't selling as many as they'd hoped for.

Every few days the Nintendo SA advert for the Switch 2 appears on my timeline on FB. The laughing emoji is the most used reaction and the comments section is full of Saffers laughing at the console being the same price as a PS5 and games hitting R2k each. It’s gotten so bad that comments are now being deleted :X3:

Very difficult sell at the moment when you don’t see stuff like a new 3D Mario and the successor to Tears of the Kingdom, only the Nintendo Diehards are spending R13.5k at launch to play Mario Kart and some prettier Switch 1 games.

This is basically why I cancelled my pre-order, the launch line up is very weak imo. The only game that remotely looks interesting was Donkey Kong and that only comes later. Other than that, it's Hades 2 but that's not exclusive so will just wait until it hits PS5.

I'll look at picking one up closer to year end, maybe Oct/Nov.

As to spending R13.5K when? R13.5K December?

Also looking at getting Cyberpunk on the system, so better to wait until December?

Do you have information that the console will be cheaper in a few months?

I suppose if you have a really old Switch 1 and an account with loads of compatible games, it makes sense.

Just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
 
I pre-ordered a Switch 2 because I have the extra cash now so was able to. There was no guarantee that I would be able to afford one later or that the price won't go up. The current gen prices have gone up sharply since launch so there is a case to be made to get one now rather than chancing it later.

Launch lineup isn't great though MKW looks like a lot of fun. Games will come, so don't mind waiting a little.

People look down on Nintendo as being a kiddy toy but the first party games are unrivalled in terms of the fun they provide.
