Switch 2 thread

So I've upgraded to Switch 2 version of TotK and discovered that I have some odds and ends on Zelda Notes that I still need to find.

I need to remind myself that there other games to play

So general feedback seems very poor battery life. It's a no go for me as a result unfortunately. I'll have to wait for v2 with a better battery and OLED.

Yeah probably just over 2 hours, tests on Youtube confirm that's about the norm on Switch 2 games with relatively high brightness.

Definitely a lot of room for improvement with battery life. 8nm Samsung node is far behind their 4nm node, which is also behind the TSMC 4nm node powering things like the ROG Ally X. Choosing LCD over OLED doesn't help efficiency either.

An OLED version in a few years once Samsung 4nm costs drop (once the yield rates improve) would make it far better in handheld mode.

Doesn't bug me too much, I run docked mode most of the time now and I have power banks too.

Ya it’s a tough one. To be honest I don’t have a switch 1, so was looking into getting this, and I wanted the handheld mode (have a young kid who will probably take the console in a couple of years). Having said that, will I actually use handheld? Not sure so don’t know what to do

As someone who mostly uses his Switch when travelling, the 2h battery is a big disappointment, although probably not a deal breaker. Seems like they cheaped it out with the battery

Must be local since it was the biggest pre-order internationally if news headlines are to be believed.

People can afford things in other countries because their currency isn't through the floor. If the Rand was at 5 to 1 r the like you would see a lot more sales of things like games, etc.

If overseas people knew the prices we paid for things like games they would think we are crazy.

But we have no choice or have just become the proverbial boiled frogs.

Is it just me or does the colours of MKW not... pop? They look so 'washed' out. Eg the reds do not have any "richness". Seeing docked vs portable side-by-side brings this out very nicely.

Pity they did not test loading times from cart vs sd express vs internal storage.

Ye gods, some of those online(?) races look absolutlely bonkers, frenetic and cray-cray-cray fun!

The single player of MKW is...ok

I decided to give the online a go and it's complete chaos in a good way. But I still think the game will shine best during couch co-op with the family. I have such great memories from Speed Freaks on the PS1 and hope to recreate that with my nieces
