Switch 2 thread

Ordered mine on Amazon.co.za
Customer support says they have farkol stock. Preordered more than a month ago. What did I do wrong give some tips for next time. I've tried game4u, takealot, nintendo dist, never get a game at launch or even a day or two later always well delayed

Physical store an option?

Nintendo themselves usually have stock but they insist on using clowns to deliver so that's a gamble.

I ordered online to collect at a Game4U store which went well. Got the notification early

Physical stores: i've checked all the local Incredible, Computer Mania etc in our area and surrounds, nothing. O well Amazon will eventually get I suppose.

Sony says physical doesn't sell... In South Africa you have to live in Cpt or Jhb otherwise physical is basically non-existant, how can it sell then, most my games are digital due to artificial scarcity

Nintendo ROM chip supplier Macronix quits to focus on chips for AI data centers, reports indicate — Game-Key cards may increase as large game storage chips become more expensive

The death of physical games could be getting closer as Macronix, one of Nintendo’s key ROM chip suppliers for Switch and Switch 2 game cartridges, is reportedly shutting down its ROM business to focus on manufacturing NOR and NAND flash chips to supply data centers, multiple reports claim. Storage is already becoming expensive, and Macronix’s move may force Nintendo to increase cartridge prices, produce more Game-Key cards, or lean more towards digital purchases.

"Nintendo's main memory chip maker is quitting the Switch business," MST Financial David Gibson reports on X. "Macronix, which makes the ROM chips in Switch 1 and Switch 2 game memory cards, is phasing out that business. There will be no new ROM products, and Q3 is the last quarter it reports ROM sales separately.

seems that they don't have stock which is why I grabbed the Takealot one (stock in Jhb and Dbn depots) even though I'll only get it on Tuesday

Cause I ordered something this morning, and it is already on route to collection spot for me to pick up this afternoon.

I was going to get digital at the weekend as I'm a lazy fscker and it's, well, easier, and I can play over the weekend. But just gave in and ordered a copy from Takealot and it's only coming Wednesday 11th. I'm a Takealot member and usually have overnight deliveries, so for this I wonder if it's a stock issue and they are sourcing?
