Switching to Mac. HELP!

Is there a quicker way to take a snapshot of a region on the screen and paste it into a document or a web page, etc?
Right now I'm seeing Ctrl-4 to select the region, then I click the image at the bottom right to bring up the options, then I tap (long or harder or whatever its called) the image to bring up a submenu, then I click copy.... then I go to the app and same long tap / hard tap or whatever and select paste.

I would prefer to have some way of defaulting to clipboard copy when I select a region and something like command+v to paste. Is there a quicker way?
Use ctrl, cmd, 4 to copy it to the clipboard.

I use Command-Shift 5 - brings up a host of options that you can pre-configure (eg save to disk, save to clipboard, etc) - can't remember if this is native or via Shottr which a great app that lives in your menu bar and allows you to configure many hotkeys for screenshotting purposes.

Anyone else on Mac using Skype and having an intermittent weird issue of it hanging? It can be minimized, maximized and restored but it ignores any click or keyboard action when it's in the foreground.... it's done it four times to me today so far. New install.

So far what has blown me away is the audio quality on this machine. Incredible.
Not Skype (didn’t know it’s used out there in the wild)

Teams, which replaced Skype for us, is great but is also a notorious resource hog.

Use CMD + Shift + 4 to screenshot a section of the screen, or ....+ 3 to screenshot the whole screen

Snipping tool sounds like it’s going to be a big miss.

Not really, that one was easy - cmd+shift+5 and you have the whole snipping tool available with options to set defaults for saving output (clipboard, file, email, etc). Getting used to the new keystrokes is mostly all I have to do for now.
Big one too Willie, that I use all the time is CMD + space bar. Calls up spotlight search. Really helps with workflow.

Remember to press space while on founder to use the Quick preview feature. And then, while it is open, remember you can use the arrow keys to cycle through docs / pics.

Super useful.

I did find Finder a bit weird when I started - kept pressing Enter top open files, only to start renaming them. Correct key is Cmd+O.

Also there is a macOS native ChatGPT agent available.

Once installed you can call it with Option + Space.

It is a gamechanger
