Not wanting to sign a 24 Month Telkom contract i bought a Billion wireless modem when i ordered my home dsl.
The first few month where plagued with a line that would sync and then disconnect 5 minutes later. I eventually had a technician come out who replaced one of the telephone cables and got the modem to stay connected.
I then had a month of perfect connection until about november last year, and then nothing.
I have had three telkom technician come out since then. They all plug in there crappy Telkom USB ADSL modems and the line sync's fine. They then tell me to get a telkom modem.
I have since taken my modem to a friends house where its sync's perfectly.
My theory is that the Billion ADSL 2+ modem is a lot more sensitive and perhaps there is still some noise on the line.
I really don't want to go out a buy a Telkom modem.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
