Tabasco Sauce Thread

So this is a "Tabasco Sauce Thread" and I'm not looking to bash Tabasco sauce lovers.

Personally tho, I'm not a fan - I find it to be very vinegary and thin, like just flavoured water.
I also hate the fact that it seems to be the go-to hot sauce that all restaurants buy.
But I do have it if there are no other decent choices - it's not that I completely hate it.

Each to their own, I guess. But I'm just curious if you guys still prefer Tabasco after tasting other hot sauces.
My current fav is Minnies South African Supercharged. I can only seem to get it at Checkers.
I'd be interested to see others try it and compare to Tabasco (not for the faint-hearted).

That's nice.

Minnies is very good, but it doesn't keep - least not in my cupboards. The prego one is tasty AF.

Started buying these recently due to lockdown, green peppers gets finished faster than the original and yet to try the chipotle & the garlic. Cost might be a concern if I get into them heavy.

I have a colleague that would be a very happy person if he could get his hands on this one again.
It was available in South Africa for a limited time 2-3 years ago, just when he discovered it, the last of the stock started disappearing from the store shelves.

I'd be keen to try this, never seen it before.

That completely defeats the purpose.

If you want that then get sweet chilli sauce

I have a combo of the Checkers Surree Sriracha Sauce for flavour and Minnies Lava Sauce for heat.

Local Checkers stocking this promising looking little bottle of spicy delights. Only R34!

Will update once I have finished the already opened sauce, otherwise I get told off.

The garlic one is nice with eggs and pasta.

Favourite recipe is for chicken wings.
After frying them in the air fryer, I melt some butter in a pan, add some regular tobacco and then chuck the wings in there for a couple of minutes.
It comes out like the Spur’s Buffalo wings from the 90’s.
Serve with celery and Roquefort.

Can confirm this one is pretty kak, apart from the obvious smokey chipotle flavour there's absolutely no heat and it tastes very watery for some weird reason. It can be a lekker marinade though

Thanx for the feedback
I guess you get what you pay for, ex I love Jimmy's sauce for braai marinade and I find Lappies is cheaper but slightly watered down.

I always use the Jimmy's braai sauce to as a go to braai marinade and the Lappies ones taste like add way too much vinegar to it. I guess that's why it tastes a bit watery in comparison
Also if you're used to the Tabasco chipotle sauce keep on using it as the Checkers one will just be a let down

My fridge has the original and the green in it. I tend to put the green on everything, all the time. Don't use the red much. I've got a local indie shop that sells either passed sell by date or close to it and they sell Tabasco at R60 per 3 bottles which helps to feed the habit.
