Hi, I’m looking for a tablet just to read ebooks, comics and watch series and Netflix.

My budget is 5000 max (better if around 3000).

I’d rather avoid Huawei because of the app availability.

What would you buy if it was for you?

Thanks!

Dixon https://www.cashcrusaders.co.za/new-goods/dixon-4glte-101-octa-core-tablet/stockcode13021 or order a Teclast from Gearbest.

Old ones still have access to the Play store...

The Blackview seems better in terms of specs to price ratio. 10.1" FHD screen, 4GB memory, 64GB space, SD + Sim card, Android 10, plus its new, for R3.6k. The only question is the quality. Never used one.

This takes the bottom of the range iPad out the equation unfortunately. I'd stick with a name brand. Samsung would be decent and has been around a long time.
Otherwise Amazon Kindle Fire is also really good.

Heading to the shop to see physically the Samsung A8 vs Huawei T8.

I can’t order online since I need it tomorrow!

Does it need LTE or can it be wifi only?

EDIT:

Unfortunately they don't have a thing which tells you which stores have stock.

Ended up getting the T8, will unpack and test once I’m home.

Also comes with a free cover with saves from buying one.

Spreadtrum Chipsets are garbage across the board. Even the ones that seem to outperform their Qualcomm and Mediatek competitors have major stability issues.

Currently the Huawei Mediapad T5 is the best value tablet on the market right now with an Octa-Core CPU and I'm almost certain it still has GMS since it's an older model.

EDIT: I see the R3299 price ends in about 20 days. The old price of R4299 seems a lot less appealing.

Busy setting up.

The screen and colors are crisp and good.

Packaging very Apple like with the white boxes.

Set up is also very Apple like.

Now trying to install Netflix which is not on their App Store!

Just drop the bombs on a 3rd gen iPad 11, you'll never regret it... R14k

Birthday gift so no control on the price.

It’s also literally just to watch Netflix and read ebooks during my treatments.

I’d take a Kindle if I didn’t need Netflix.

Got the Matepad T8, exactly what I was looking for (barely unpacked though).
