TABLETS - wanting to buy!

Any suggestions for:
Android 7 inch
GSM - must make phone calls
Decent camera
Thanks

You're kind of out of luck when it comes to Android tablets, there's only really Lenovo and Samsung you could pick up and they aren't really good at that size. There are other brands but not sure of their quality and probably wouldn't be any good as Android tablets slowly fizzled.

Yes, it's sad really. Tablets are a dying breed it seems- at least where Android is concerned. I still have my Sony Z2 tablet, and I guess I'll be keeping it till the day it dies.

I have an ASUS Android tablet Zenpad 8.0 model Z380KL with GSM and wi-fi. Works very well and mine also came with an extra clip on power bank back cover. Can really recommend Asus tablets.

Or Samsung S3 tablet if OP wants to spend R10k on a newer model.
I wouldn't spend 10K on a tablet, unless it's cash. There are bunch of tablets in the sub 1.5k region, but generally has the same old hardware and terrible cameras. Oddly wanting a tablet for calls is rather unusual, it's chunky, can't hear a thing without bluetooth handsfree kit or earphones. That is what a phone is for. My tablets has GSM and 3G, there has not been a single reason to make use of the call functionality.Call functionality is a niche on tablet and really only useful in an emergency, in an emergency I would much rather use my android watch.

Much rather get a 5.5 inch phone, isn't too big, and you can still do other things on it. Reminds me a little of the nokia ngage, one my favorite devices from way back, really nice idea in general just really poor for actually phone calls, I found my self constantly having to have earphones at the ready.

Agree with you entirely. I don't think I've ever made use of the phone function on my Note 10 bought second hand several years ago and still going strong.

The 10" tablet is mainly used for for streaming (and cast to TV), browsing and email and I wouldn't want to go smaller for that for everyday use, We don't even switch on the PC these days.

My 5.5" phone has all the those capabilities and can be used too, but not primarily.

Otherwise have a look on Gearbest / Banggood - they have quite a good selection of phablets there if you don't mind the hassle of importing.

That's a pretty bad tablet to be honest but hopefully you'll be fine with it.
Why ? There is a proline for 1.5k but the specs on that it horrid. For average joe it's pretty decent.Next tablet on the list is 2.8k which is the lenovo tab4. For a budget 7 inch with LTE considering the specs is a pretty decent deal, the other samung 7 inch tablets is only a couple of bucks cheaper, and has considerably worse specs and runs 3G, 2mp camera and 1024 x600 res and android 4.4

It's pretty decent overall considering the price.

My first choice would have been this, but he asked specifically for 7 inch, this proline is better in every way.

That's the scary thing it's probably the best of the lot. But it's got a snapdragon 410 with 1.5 gigs of RAM running on lollipop which was already a year old by the time this device came out and with the Samsung touch wiz running on top of that it will be slow, it will also forever be stuck on lollipop :-(

We are pretty much like some other places the dumping ground for old stock, specially lenovo and samsung.Release price was around 3.5k, 1.5k price gouge isn't all that bad. That said I wouldn't buy samsung again, lenovo is pretty good and first choice.
Android 5.1 is okay, it has the power savings mode from android 6, as well as the ability to format sd card as internal space, the 8gb rom is weak but I rarely ran out of space with installed apps, and you can move apps to the SD in any ways, it's more annoying then any thing else.

I am holding out till black friday for a new tablet, going 10 inch again, but this time around I have a limit of 3gig ram and 64gig rom.But I will see, I won a amazon fire 7 inch a few weeks back on mybb, and actually pretty darn happy with it, bar amazon being a bit spammy, managed to sideload googleplay and all the apps I needed, and have no issues casting to none fire devices now.

Unless a really good deal comes around, I might hold out a bit longer, lenovo tab 4 is attractive but sporting pretty old hardware in general.
