Seems like one fast-food phenomena that has not yet hit these shores. Anyone tried their tacos and anything near to it in SA?

I'm a big big fan of taco bell. No, nothing like it at all. And if it did come to SA, I don't think it would last long. Only mexican themed resturants that make it are really just bars that happen to serve food.

I'm also a fan of Taco Bell but lets be honest, they're about as good of a representation of tacos as McDonalds is to the hamburger.

Lol that's true.

Off topic - hit up baskin Robin's last week. Great ice cream....doesn't have the 31 flavors in store.

They have way more than 31 flavours, that was just a marketing concept in order to promote the idea of a different flavour every day of the month.

I know but they are supposed to have a minimum of 31 flavors sitting out. .and they don't.

Sold out when I went late one evening, they had four flavors left. I chose a cookies and cream milkshake and it was very underwhelming. Not thick at all, I could make a better milkshake at home with my eyes closed.

Yes, I've noticed a lack of mexican restuarants. Wonder why? Too hot for the palate here?

Did you get the Baskin Robbins here in SA or in US. I heard some rumors that they will be opening here, but have not seen any around. I'm in JHB btw. Not sure if you have tried Qdoba guys, it is my favourite from the mex-american franchises. Taco Bell is nice, but nothing to write home about, nevertheless would be great if they come to SA .

There's a Mexican restaurant called Chingada's around the corner from me here in PE. It's big inside and is packed every single night.

When McDonald's did the burgers from around the world promo the Mexican was the most popular.

I don't think that the problem is the spiciness of the food as Indian food is also quite spicy.

Taco Bell will be good. Starbucks would be better.

Starbucks is really expensive though. Not sure they'd be willing to price themselves appropriately for the South African market. I'd rather have something unique like Taco Bell - it's not like we struggle to find good coffee in SA. International House of Pancakes sounds much more fun than Starbucks, so I'd also take that over Starbucks.

My first choice would actually be a proper Subway rollout. I really, really liked their food while I was in London and it seemed much healthier than any other takeaway option.
