Takealot is playing dirty

Start a gofundme.

I’m sure between everyone in this thread we can raise the R20 to fund your new toothbrush.
That way you don’t have to cash in your pension.

Then we can put this saga behind us. And we can avoid buying from those dirty bastards who are trying to bankrupt people.

I would suggest logging a complaint with the Consumer Goods Council and see what they say... I am thinking about doing the same and the Advertising Authority specifically for my case...
See what they say about what? Takealot gave him a 100% refund on a nearly two year old product.

Don’t be an idiot.

I didn’t but it directly from Braun

When you buy something from makro and have an issue where do you take it ?

The retailer is the one that liaises with the supplier for warranty purposes

So Takealot probably refunded you, got the toothbrush replaced by the vendor, only to sell the replacement at the new, higher price to someone else...

Good business model

How do you brush your teeth since you sent it back by the way?

So I need some advice here.

I purchased an electric toothbrush on special just under 2 years ago.
The brush has a 2 year warranty.

The brush stopped working so I sent it back to TAL and chose the option of “repair or replace”.

Without any communication they simply refunded me the purchase price.

Now I cannot replace that model at the seme price 2 years later so this is why I wanted a repair.

When I raised a query I was told that the item is out of stock (of course it’s probably a redundant model).

I know that many suppliers are able to replace a discontinued model with an equivalent current model (mostly just esthetic changes and model number are the case)

However TAL refuse to budge and insist that all they can do is credit my my original purchase price.

How can I take this up further.

...aaand on to my ignore list yo go.

Some mothers children...

listen up you wet muppet, you posted the link ( https://www.electricteeth.com/uk/oral-b-warranty-works-covers/ ) which when followed and read point towards the service details I posted. wtaf did you expect? should takelot be accountable for your lack of warranty registration?

what kind of clown do you purport to be? you're coming across as an especially daft and entitled one.
you need to use a toilet brush instead, at least it'll remove the shtstains from all the crp you're spewing

The manufacturer. Another reason I prefer Philips because with some products they even give you an extended warranty if you register it on philips.com.

This is the only person that got my point.

The rest of the idiots on this forum seem to have a very low IQ and just prefer to talk **** while scratching their balls.

The terms of the guarantee are clear but TAL is neglecting to honor it

Why should I be prejudiced into buying another identical specced item at a higher price when the said item had a replacement/repair guarantee.

I’ve had experience with other retailers who got the supplier to replace with a similar model when it was not possible to repair it.

It happened with a vacuum I purchased from makro about a year ago. Hoover even replaced the machine with a higher spec model.
Never have I received a refund from a retailer unless it was a OBF.

Your guarantee is with the manufacturer, NOT with Takealot.

So take it up with them.

No, they are not.

Your warranty is directly with the manufacturer unless stated otherwise.
