Takealot Vouchers (Begging) Thread

Getting really irritated with TAL's pricing recently, even with the vouchers - had this in my wishlist the last few days:

Went to buy last night (without a voucher), and pricing suddenly increases by 25%+ !
When I moved to the cart, I see the product name also changes... what justifies this ridiculous pricing change? Even with vouchers their pricing is becoming way over-inflated...

They'll have to start issuing "R200" vouchers soon to counter the effect of their product price increases.

Just check everyday, cos prices fluctuate a lot. Also sometimes the prices in wishlist reflect different to price on the product page, and cart always displays the latest price.
Is helluva confusing.

I actually saved some money from an item on my wishlist before. The old price was more than the new.

It's just normal price fluctuation, supply/demand, R/$

You can always try and find it cheaper at a different store

cant see the daily deals on the website
is it just me or anyone else too?

I wish they would stop blocking out expired deals. Now you have to enter the description and find it among their usual products.

Do your homework before buying. During checkout select cash deposit. Noticed the same deals are available at stores.. its a promotion they running. .

Back to the voucher discussion.

There is a R500 voucher available on condition you spend R5000 or more. Still waiting for the details.

I monitor everything in my cart daily and prices actually fluctuates everyday I was quiet surprised myself. Their wishlist doesn't operate perfectly example you should receive communication once stock is available, price change - old price always shows. I have addressed this bug with takealot more than once. It's a database issue. Like example vouchers you receive from vouchercloud should be used on mobile but their server to enforce mobile wasn't operational. Now it's operational again.

Last night they made a big pricing error on item. I quickly wanted to purchase it at that time 70 were available and when I wanted to check out price changed again 50 were available..

Also prices fluctuates according to how many items they have moved of the product. Example if they bought 50 shaving blades for R50 the 2 they have available sold for R79. Once they sell the 50 blades for R50 normal price kicks in unless you buy all the stock at once.

Check the gaming section - compare prices with raru / loot you'll notice takealot are the most expensive. Even more expensive than stores. Example Evil within for Xbox 360 R599(May payday promotion ) at Raru R499.

PayDay Promotion is a sales gimmick.

Study your prices and do your homework..If you live in a small town where there is no shops I can understand.

Where did you hear about this?

Its R500 that you can spend / save on something else. Can't really complain about that.

But you have to spend R5000 on a 3rd party site to get the R500 takealot voucher from what I recall. If you were going to spend it in any case, then yes - can't complain.

Update.

Yes but some products were contributing to the tech issues so in accordance with our T&Cs we unfortunately had to remove them.

I now wonder if they sold something way below cost price.
