Takealot Vouchers (Begging) Thread

I didn't want a start a new thread, does Takealot now charge for delivery on orders from the app? I see that I was charged today. There goes my reason for using the app then.
 
On orders under R250. Over R250 is still free just like on the website.

Yes I believe they do now. Same reason for me. The free delivery on the app was the only reason I used it. I'm going to uninstall it and alert them on twitter.
 
Takealot was taking a huge loss with the free delivery on the app. No use to complain over something that wasn't fair from the start.

Agreed. They probably had a marketing allocation budget for free delivery. Once that got depleted goodbye. It lasted over a year+ they were taken a huge knock on that

I believe they took the brunt to make people use app more and they know it's there best best to get future sales as each and everyone has a smart phone with Internet now a days. As people experience the convenience of shopping they will never go back to brick and mortar shop

Oh I agree it must have cost them, I just wish that they would take the message off the app now.

Yeah. While I am sad that the Free app delivery is gone. I will say that my shopping experience on the app is way better. I find that the search in the website is not accurate most of the time. Searching for multiple words results in strange results. Sometimes find books of the products I want. IMO app is better and would therefore continue using it.

Amazing that they are the biggest online shopping website in SA and they can't even fix their crappy search function. Or is the problem PEBKAC?

I didn't say they can't fix it. For all I know they have. I just know that 2 years or so i used that search function and it could not find what I was looking for. Had to go to specific department and look for it. Also my coworker at the time found that he was able to break their site by attempting to SQL inject that search box.

They have not fixed it last I tried. Really irritating. I suppose they are possibly still running on the system that was used from Take2 days?

Nope, they never fixed it. Put 2 or more words in the search and you get 61833 results, of which 54444 are books. Tried searching for 'cat food'

Well, at least someone at Takealot will have picked this up, since they seem to be constantly scouring the forums for leaked promo codes.

Whether or not they'll do anything about their severely broken search engine remains to be seen.
