Haha true, but I want to like purchase some wine of takealot however there prices are quiet expensive compared to other stores.
 
I for one wouldn't mind some booze vouchers. I don't buy the stuff for myself, because of the price, but some vouchers for gift bottles around Christmas wouldn't go astray.
 
TA is getting really ridiculous. I used my credit to buy airtime but every payment method for R0 fails and selecting EFT hangs on awaiting payment. Big fail on Takealot.

It's a site bug which they either refuse to fix, or are unable to. I now use the TL app when buying airtime using my TL credit and the airtime vouchers are emailed immediately. Was very frustrating until I found the app does not have the issue.
 
I see they've blocked dealsdealsdeals to make it more difficult in finding out whether their "bargains" are actually bargains.

Unfortunately, takealot.com has seen fit to block our price tracking server from their site. We will endeavour to get in touch with them and enquire as to the reasoning behind this move and whether or not we can find a way to resolve whatever the issue is, but until that time, takealot product tracking will unfortunately not function.

We apologise for the inconvenience, but it is out of our hands.

Never heard of it.

I always do a Google search before purchasing from any site. TA is seldom cheapest, and often their daily deals are more expensive than TA everyday price.

true...like that gas bottle I bought...it turned out to be more expensive than the builder's warehouse normal price :mad:

Saw the same thing the other day. Wanted to start a "Takealot price watch" thread because of it...

Maybe Takealot did not block them intentionally though? maybe they just made changes to the back-end and the way dealsdealsdeals would gather data stopped working? Or it could be that they use some sort of crawler to capture data from Takealot witch could have caused some unwanted traffic for them...

It kept history of prices - showed current and past pricing. Was a very handy way to track pricing and to check how special "specials" are.
 
Is this dealsdealdsdeals thing worth keeping an eye on? First time I hear of it.

I have a new inside connection at TAL, and from what I hear, the "incompetent" or at least "very overworked" argument is a very likely scenario.
