For those of you wanting to buy books on takealot you can use "Varsity2" code to get 10% off

Until 31 March

Wow. While you can still jimmy it by adding airtime to get you over R450, Takealot is no longer attractive to me. First eBucks earn went down from 3% to 1% and now the higher free delivery threshold.

Meh....

The word is realistic. Am sure the margins on items costing R250 barely covered delivery

Yes, agreed.

But, if you want to take on brick and mortar, you need to be competitive. Example: Megabox of Pampers nappies is my most common order from Takealot and the TL price is on par with my local Spar. Now, I need to add R65 delivery onto the R369 if I buy from TL.

When did this change? I noticed A LOT less eBucks coming in as of late but I can't pinpoint the date/time more or less when this happened...

I just did a test order and the minimum spend for free delivery is R450. This really sucks as most daily deals are below R450.

Charging you to come to them?

Seems like that, yes. Check the FAQ, I first thought I read it wrong but I've been checking it now for two days and yes, they're going to charge you to pick up your own order if it happens on a weekend.

Seems minmum order on takealot for free delivery is now R450 :(
Loot is still R30 for app orders. Use code FREED.

Daily deals are free by default, unless something has changed, don't know haven't seen it in a while. This is exactly what I said will happen with the Kalahari merger.

Daily deals under R250 do not get free delivery the last time I checked.

Weird as they advertised it as free delivery on all daily deals from the onset from what I can remember.
