Can't believe daily deals don't have free shipping anymore. Fucas. Been doing 9 out of 10 purchases from Loot this year.

What's their delivery time like? Takealot has always been super fast for me. Same day or next day most times.

I purchased from loot once.. They told me it would take 3 weeks to deliver with free delivery.. Landed up paying for delivery and got my parcel a few days later.

Ya, free delivery that takes ages is also not much help. Takealot used to be both free and quick.
That is nonsense. They send or deliver as soon as items arrive. I see TAL has the same strategy. Make you pay for fast delivery when they usually dispatch same day or no later than the next.

My issue was also as a result of typing takealot.co.za. I think their cert on that domain may have expired or someone messed with some configuration. It used to forward to .com anyway, I didn't even realize my auto complete was going to .co.za at first.

Economy courier is within 3 of dispatch. Usually received on 3rd day after dispatch from CT to Jo'burg.
So the 5 days it normally takes to source an item. Then another day to send it. Seems they got some extra money from you. They always over estimate.
In my experience even takealot has become very fussy about delivery charges previously they used to ship part of your order if one item is not on stock and if you request, now a days they want you to pay if they have to ship it below the R450.Now a days I receive items after a week if free delivery is selected from takealot.
Loot has been excellent for the last few purchases I did all my items received in 2 days from order through Fedex with free delivery
Takealot was scheduled to deliver on Tuesday but when the item had arrived they delivered unexpectedly on Friday.
One of my items was out of stock with Loot so I told them to change it for something else. They put it on order and sent off the rest today.
So I can't say I really had any serious issues with either.

I no longer wonder why Takealot is not making money yet (per recent news articles).
I placed an order for 2x boxes of nappies. I chose COD as the payment method. 2 minutes later I realised I had forgotten to add something. I created a second order with 2 boxes of nappies and the other item and chose COD again. I then tweeted Takealot to cancel the first one and they replied they can't.
I then phoned Takealot and another lady said the same thing - even though the order was not 5 minutes old and had not actually shipped, the order could not be cancelled. I was now to wait for the first order, refuse to pay for it and it will be sent back to JHB. I am then to pay and receive the second order.

Hmmm weird I've cancelled an order a day after placing it and the placed another order immediately afterwards.
As have I - but in those cases, it was EFT as payment option. Did you ever try and kill a COD?
