Out of interest, why does Samsung (even Makro, Vodacom and the likes) sell their S23 Ultra 256GB at R30k while Takealot offers the same device at R24k?

What am I missing?

Are they not parallel imports on Takealot?

I do not know. They do not mention if they are imports. If they are, will I have problems with Samsung support locally?

Makro, Vodacom, etc probably have more overheads so they try to make more profit from each sale... Takealot being online only, would likely have less expenses to cover. Or they're just less greedy. :)

Are the phones being sold directly by Takealot or 3rd party resellers? Honestly I dont know if you would have issues or not with Samsung support.

On Takealot they're sold by Elite Shopper and currently on special, marked down from R 32,999

It's a massive discount and I am thinking of just grabbing one. My Note 9, which I have been using from probably around 2018 is due for an upgrade now. I was just wondering about the big price difference.

I was thinking about buying an unlocked version from the US, where they sell at around R17k. But, I think with the shipping, import duties, etc., I will be getting closer to the R24k price on TAL. Only then also I will need to wait a week+ for delivery where I can get it tomorrow on TAL.

Also I was not sure if you would get local support from Samsung if you imported a device from abroad.
