It's issued for free with most current accounts.
If you have a standard bank achiver, elite or platinum its standard. If you have a fnb gold current account its standard, etc.

oh ok I presume it may work same for Absa savings accounts, it does get linked to my normal bank account if I understand you correctly or is it totally different account (meaning I have to deposit money into it to use the cheque account)

It takes 1 businessday to clear. Thus weekends excluded.

Its always linked to the same account as your debit card. However, a cheque card is only for cheque/current accounts. I don't think you can get a cheque card for savings or investment accounts.

They said I will only get it on 11th May (1 Month Later) :D how long does their suppliers take to deliver stuff to them cause that is crazy long.

If it is from USA it should be 3 days judging from time it takes for my parcels to come from my Aunt in USA and couriered to my door.

Mine is deep into May as well. 20 working days and because there are so many public holidays it is basically more than a month. Not sure I follow what a public holiday in SA impact the time it takes to deliver to them.

I think they are using a 3rd party to import it so there is no way to track or estimate the time so they just use a conservative number of 20 working days.

Wonder if they use fast mail when getting their items or if they use snail mail/ship

Well, for what it is worth, I ordered an item from amazon through takealot, with the delivery estimated on 5 May, and they called me yesterday asking when they can deliver. So I should be receiving it on Monday...
