Do they always take forever to confirm that they got your money in their account.

I have been waiting since Saturday and I did do an internal bank transfer and it still states I have not paid for my order on the website.

Tried their number and engaged (high volume calls apparently) and they havent replied to my emails

Its weekend... Long weekend...

Bank transfers don't get confirmed on weekends, also it will take a day or two if it's from bank to bank.

Always thought they do on Saturday midnight and that internal transfers are done at midnight with no waiting time

I use Absa and they also are Absa so shouldn't my money be received anyway today early morning, since its Monday or will it only be Tuesday?

Edit: Got reply saying only Tuesday they will get it

Yes it should get confirmed today, but since it's a public holiday maybe only tomorrow. Next time you use Takealot use the payfast function the transfer is instant very awesome feature.

According to this they can't: https://www.payfast.co.za/help/debit_cards

"A pure debit card which is not branded MasterCard or VISA and which has no expiry date cannot be used online anywhere as it requires a physical terminal to have a pin be entered to authorise the transaction. "

"There are however other cards, also termed debit cards, which are actually credit cards under a different guise. These have expiry dates and will have Visa or MasterCard branding and can be used online.

These are what are typically issued in the US, UK etc. as debit cards."

Takealot accepts Debit card payments via the PayD service ...

You should rather use a product called VCpay. It allows you to generate MasterCards for online shoppings.
Its free to use and works on any website that accepts Mastercards (international or national).
There was a couple of threads based on this product: See:

What he said. Was about to say it myself.

The nice thing about this is, when you EFT some $$$ to vcpay it gets loaded onto your virtual "credit card" within minutes - no matter when you do the eft! No fees, no nothing.

Geez, why don't guys just get a credit card and save yourselves all this hassle.

I know this must seem strange to some, but there are still people that actually prefer to pay cash...

Cause credit is bad, I want to use my cash I have in my card or then it leads to card cloning and abuse with the credit card online (they dont even need pin and some card machines also)

Actually being not able to use my debit card online is actually a good thing I would rather stick to bank transfers :D

But a credit rating is good :)
I use my credit card for online purchases.... and I replace the money I used from my cheque account each time.

Would still have to go in bank to pay it off (Absa online fees ftl), but seeing as I barely purchase online I better just stick with my debit card :D

True about credit rating is a credit card only way to get good standing with it if I ever needed a house/landline/car in my name or to purchase?

Credit rating -> homeloans, carloans, etc etc.
No credit rating, and limited capital = no decent sized loans.
