I just downloaded the damn thing from gaming.do.co.za, and the freaking file ( Runes_of_Magic_open_beta.rar ) is corrupt.
3.5GB and it's corrupt.

Eish!

EDIT: And - of course, there is no means available to contact whomever runs the website. None at all.

Sheesh :S

Downloading it as well now...looked and the trailers and screenies and did some research on the classes and factions...

Its a lot like WoW...just free o_O

Will try it out, but chances of me leaving WoW permanent is small :p
 
Method, where are you downloading it from?

I used Reget Deluxe to download the file, and that program have never corrupted anything, and I've downloaded some massive demo's with it, so I trust it implicitly. I suspect gaming.do.co.za has a corrupt copy.

It doesn't look bad at all and so far the only crit is that it's very similar to WoW - which may in fact draw more accounts if you think about it.

The only thing that worries me with these free games is the fact that those with the $ get to purchase awesome gear with their credit cards a la the diamond system. :mad:

I might just give this one a go.

@Voicy, if it's good enough to match wow, or even come close, knowing that i'll have to spend money (on the diamond system) when I want to really helps me.
Of course, getting close to WoW is difficult.

Playing it already. Suspended my WoW indefinetly, until i get bored of RoM.

If anyone needs the client, I stay in Alberton/Germiston area, I will more than gladly cut a cd to pass onto a fellow gamer.

So far, my g/f, another mate and I started playing, game is nice, as long as u are open minded it isnt supposed to be WoW.
 
I can attempt posting it via courier for those interested, will take faster than downloading it.

However, courier costs, and for 1-2 guys i dont mind covering costs, but if everyone asks, it will cover wow fees for a year...

PM me with ur addresses if u guys want, and some sort of a plan to post, I think it is around 30-40 rand to post a cd.
 
It costs around R5 or so if you use the south african post office :> Basically just get a padded envelope which has a stamp included, costs R5 or so.

Just replace the me with a blank DVD, and come pick it up :)

If I need to post, I am willing to do that, but u guys need to cover the postage fees then...
 
hehe, while everyone is talking of leaving for ahile I just came back to WOW after a one and half year break... loving it
