Taking everything from whites will not solve the problem: ANC

The only people that do not see the bigger picture are people such as your self who think life began in 94 and anything prior to that has no effect on the present moving forward. That self centered and myopic view of things infuriates me. I have deep sympathy for your father but I have even deeper sympathy for those that never had the opportunity to en a business because they were robbed of that ability by the previous government. Those who had to endure Bantu education.

Why do you automatically conclude that your father didn't get a job because of his color. White people get jobs every day.could it be a question of age. Skills perhaps. When did BEE become a scape for those that those that fail one way or the other to get a job. When a black person doesn't get a job it is because he is not educated or is not skilled but with white people it is because of BEE. It is high time some folk address their own inadequacies rather than playing a blame game.

If you think the 25% is the true number then you also mistaken as it doesn't account for those that have given up. The unemployment level among black people is desperate.

What do you think should change for the country to move forward?

Can anyone please show me where these different tax rates are for blacks and whites?
lol. Thats not what Ancalagon meant, but yeah sure here you go...Section 8B of the Income Tax Act....tax laws discriminating by race.

There are no tax laws that discriminate on race. There are some that favor age though.

Ancalagon was pretty clear with what he said .

Its included in 'sin-tax', since it is a sin to be white

The victim mentality is starting to get tired. White people are not the victims in this instance. As a demography, white peoples in SA are the most prosperous, most employed, most educated, most skilled, own the most and have gained the most since 94, yet some would like to make us believe that they have been hard done by in SA.

Words like " genocide","disposes", "white tax" are thrown around by some without any basis in fact. This is done deliberately to perpetuate the false notion that white people are being singled out.

The only real way South Africa can get out of this hole is to generate more jobs. The only way to generate jobs is to create more entrepreneurs that can start businesses and create those much needed jobs. The only way to create more entrepreneurs is to have a world class education system, from the get go (aka Grade 0).

SA has a extremely bad education system, failing the students, the ones that are left behind are the ones that can afford it the least. The poorest of the blacks, in the township schools just cannot get out of the hole. And whose fault is that? After 25 years it cannot be blamed on apartheid anymore. Surely this is the fault of the ANC government. Of course there are some standout schools from previously disadvantage areas, but there are only a handful...

The first generation of after apartheid children should have been properly educated by now, and created jobs. But that didn't happen. Now the problem is being rectified by making jobs exclusive to a certain demographic, and in most cases, the most qualified candidate is not hired due to policy, and this is plainly wrong.

It is time we all take a stand against the education system. If we can implement a proper system next year, in 20 years we can reap the rewards, but unfortunately the ANC has too much to loose from an educated country...
Jobs yes but education isn't the saviour you think it is. Certainly didn't save Zim.

Let's entertain this stupidity for a second. White's make up like 7% of the population. Black people go on a nationwide bat****crazy riot and take it all, then they discover that all the white people stuff is only like a drop in a very large pond and then turn on each other like hyenas after the spoils. Anarchy. Chaos. Back to 500 years ago, cats and dogs living together type of chaos.

After that when it's all broken, burned and spent on booze and woonga and chicks, then what? Start crying to the West for more aid?

Plz

if it keeps them in power, its good enough, remember if they cant win through conventional methods they it will turn ugly, "if i cant have it, nobody can" you see this mentality all over south africa, burning everything down.

at the moment i believe there are more good people around, than those that think like the mentioned above, thats why you read reports of "isolated incedents" of gruesome murders without reason, instead of widespread hysteria

crying to the west for more aid, have you not noticed a trend? the african rulers do what they want, then hold their citizens as ransom to the west for more aid. "you better give us more money or our people will die" they get the money then spit at the hand that helped them, just to let their followers know whos boss.

We need to do the following:

Education
For children and adults.
Exports
Make exports from South Africa as attractive as possible to the rest of the world.
This would include laxing/streamlining/simplifying customs and tax. It would also require SAPO to pull finger.
Economic Equity
Colour has nothing to do with this. Free rides do not work either. Lower the minimum wage (and/or subsidise wage/pay employees to hire more people).

So much to do in this country and so many idle hands. Does not compute.

We need Zimbabwe style Redistribution of Wealth.

Have ever heard of a thing called sarcasm?
That was meant as a joke.

But to your point yes, as you mention, white people are still the wealthy group in SA, and of course, the more you earn, the more tax you pay. Some ill-informed people might see this as an attack against whites, but there are plenty of previously disadvantaged people making a lot of money and (hopefully) paying their fair share of tax.

I think you guys are totally missing the point here.

As long as sinister power hungry people get to play with the population, they don't care what is required to keep the 'racism' discussion in the spot light, they don't care if they have to play both sides of the story ("It's is Apartheid [which translates to ~ whites did it] , VS We must work together, love the whites etc")

It is all merely being used as a tool to keep people divided, and distracted, it is a game of cat, and a very bloodthirsty mouse happening in this country. The Cat, knows that the mice are out to get it [ZumaMustFall / Nkandla / Weakening Rand / New Bills selling our right to medication to BigPharma / Corruption at all levels of Government/ Poverty / Weak Education / Droughts / AIDS / Crime / Food shortage etc ].

The cat knows that if it can somehow make the mice forget about all these horrible things it is doing wrong, and get the mice to fight among themselves, well then, then the cat calls the shots, and it's no longer afraid of the mice.

It is time to realize it's never an issue of race, it's a class war, the rich and power hungry vs the rest of us. The thing to take away from this is, the government ONLY has 1 card left to play in South Africa, deep seated racial tension, pouring salt onto the wounds after scraping those wounds open with a blunt rake.

We need to stand together, now more than ever, and see that even though there is rage inside all of us, were focusing it on the wrong issue, we are addressing a symptom, and not the cause of the problem. We shouldn't care who is in charge of the country, as long as we know that they are in OUR service, that WE can hold them to judgement if they are caught stealing a lunch bar, not even to phantom R 250 million and a R 4 Billion Jet and and and and...

Peace

Wow, I'm a so delusional that a response wasn't needed ? Am I the one that i completely missing the point here ?

Well, you're oversimplifying it.

And this bit --> "it's never an issue of race" isn't true. Race and class are, as a result of our history, deeply intertwined. Being in denial about this will see you lose many people who would otherwise agree with you.

I agree that the ANC is, in typical cynical fashion, using it as a means to an end, especially in election year. They're a party in decline, become less and less relevant, so they're running the race card through the printing press at light speed.

I don't agree with that it is an issue of race, look deeper, see what the powers to be can get out of this ? racial division = divide and conquer strategy. The issue of race is only at the surface [just like our skins!!].

It's like the ANC bigwigs got together, had some chivas, and listened to Sun Tzu's Art of War, but while getting drunk.

the only thing we can hope for is that the Race card becomes more and more diluted as they use it. And I hope people realise that not everything wrong today in South Africa is the 'whites' [i.e. Apartheids'] fault. We need to look at the people currently in charge.

Problem with that is that a large population of the country takes everything the ANC says as fact. So, if the ANC says its apartheids fault, then it is, how can the mighty ANC be wrong?
As long as we have an uneducated mass, things will stay as it is.

It isn't, though. The country in many ways never really properly dealt with the the racial divisions that were entrenched during Apartheid. Getting rid of the laws didn't change that.

That's a caricature that doesn't really help move the conversation forward.

It seems like you haven't considered that there's a shared experience among the majority of South Africans that fundamental societal issues have't been addressed.

Again, the ANC does not want a well educated, logical thinking user base, cause that will expose their shortcommings and lies. They want people to think and vote emotionally, they want everyone to think the DA is racist [I actually saw JZ said yesterday that no ANC member has ever been racist]. and they want to attach apartheid on the front of their whip!

The country will never move forward, if skin colour is only thing we focus on. Racism/Skin colour/poverty/crime etc, all of this is SYMPTOMS of a failing government. if you have a cold, you don't just think wiping your nose will make you better ? no, a snotty nose is a symptom, the cause is a virus, address the virus, and the symptom goes away.

I talked to my domestic workers and my gardeners, neither of the two groups even knew about Nkandla, never mind the corrupt weapons transactions, firing of Nene... They don' t hear or follow these stories as the middle and upper class does. So what motivatio is there for them to vote for another party?
It has been 25 years and they haven't received houses, they don't have better jobs, their children don't have better education. If they haven't changed their vote by this time, how long will it take? Every election comes with a bunch of promises from the ANC, which the masses seem to accept.

To a certain extend I agree with you. But look all over the world, there are parts of Spain that want to break free, parts of the Netherlands, Belgium, France... People want to be surrounded and governed by their peers, irrespective of colour. Unfortunately SA has 11 cultures that somehow has to work together, which seems to be a very difficult task. As most of Europe has seen, and many a war fought over, cultures simply don't mix. People simply aren't tolerate to accommodate other cultures.
Even the white Afrikaans and white English people disagree on many a subject.
Split the country into 11 parts, give each culture their share and lets see what happens :)
