Well if its something to remind you then I wouldn't suggest lower back, probably hip so that you can see it more often than not. I doubt you'd want a reminder of your sisters in the "tramp stamp" region. It would lose its meaning then. But its your choice, you have to live with it so yeah. mine is just a suggestion

Back on topic, I'd consider an alternate patch of skin for the ink if I were you :)
 
I've got a mate with "Fidelity" tattooed on the inside of his left wrist, where his watch strap sits. Looks quite good and can be hidden if needed, plus you'll see it more often than your lower back...
 
If anywhere on the ankle, I see no point spending money, pain and time on something you're going to hide.
 
Hip is a good place imo.Tramp stamps are everywhere but it you like it go for it.My better half has a beautiful one on her wrist with vines and table mountain and other stuff she likes.Also depends on what line of work you are in/going into...People are still ignorant about tats.

Whatever you do, please don't get a catalogue tattoo. I.e. dolphin/butterfly/lizard/beckham star/circle/tribal/whatnot.

If you're close to your sisters, I may propose that you put the celtic knot on the back of your shoulder. That way it's hidden unless appropriate attire is worn, you can also see it in the mirror ... and the poetic drive behind it (as all tattoos should have) is that your sisters will always have your back.

But that's just me...

I agree with Voicy. Don't take one from the catalogues in the store, rather research something meaningful and original...

Tattoos on ankles/ calves look sexy on women (my gf has one on her calf) but that depends on your line of work I guess. I'd say do it on the inside wrist.
