tax return 2011

If he did business travel he can claim maintenance and interest on the lease, why do you say he can't? That's what the log book is there for.

I checked, if i put my lease payment in as my car payments it show Sars will owe me money, if i leave it blank and only put in my km's i end up owing them which makes no sense to me. i mean i did business 70 000km's for the tax year.

you have to go into SARS to do this. take a certified copy of your ID document. a certified print out of your bank statement. do not go there without these things as you will only be told to get these things. and only you can do this. as from this year no tax consultant or representative may do this on behalf of anyone.

Not completly true. You can change online if you are a registered EFiler.

"Change my bank details

For security reasons and to protect taxpayers from potential fraud, changes to banking details can only be done in person at a SARS branch or via your eFiling profile if you are a registered eFiler."

No letter unfortunatey... just the revised IT34 which is exactly the same

Hmm. Why did they date it the first of August?
Maybe it is when they will pay out?

Anyway - it's supremely confusing for the tax payer.
:/

Mine doesn't show that it has been re-evaluated. Hmm. Maybe I'm too impatient?
lol.
:)

Should the taxpayer’s banking details fail AVS validations, a rejection letter will be issued to the taxpayer advising the taxpayer to visit the nearest SARS branch with the relevant supporting documentation to finalise the change of banking details.

If the taxpayer changes banking details and the details are of an AVS non-participant bank, a rejection letter will be issued automatically to the taxpayer advising the taxpayer to visit the nearest SARS branch with the relevant supporting documentation to finalise the change of banking details.

if a person has been notified via e-filing that the banking details do not match then they MUST go into SARS with the relevant documentation. changing it on e-filing is NOT acceptable.

all of my dates say 01 August :p

Even on last years statement... even though the payout was on the 15th...

I think they're done with mine :)

First calculation indicated that they are going to pay out almost R4000. After an audit I owe them R2000. Dammit to hell!

do the claim above the one you are doing, the one where you put the business and private mileage in the relevant blocks. you will see a huge difference in the refund.

Now I'm confused - just got notification of 'additional assesment' complete - and when I look on my statement it s
2011-08-01 Additional assessment - xx,xxx.00
Closing Balance xx,xxx.00

Select for Audit - No
Unprocessed Payments 0.00

Except no electronic refund... :(

rapid look properly on the statement of account. although they did an additional revised assessment this means nothing. there could still be a refund sitting on the statement of account. look next to 2011.

Hmmm. Nice, they must like you.
:)

Me, on the othe hand....
"Let the f****r burn!!!!"
Pretty much.

I've always gotten a fortune back (to embarrassed to give an amount)... at least a 1/3 of what I pay tax... but I keep perfect records down to the cent :)

I think that's the case, I looked at last years stuff and it followed the same pattern, only difference is that last year I had the money before they sent me the revised assessment, being a Saturday, it didn't work that way this time.

And your reference?
Mine was from the SARS site and I have updated two bank accounts adnmittedly both FNB which I presume is an "AVS" participent bank, whatever AVS means. (Address Verification System?)

Hey Celine.

I have my km's in for business travel but somehow still shows that i owe them money. Cant understand it. last year i got R5000 back and did less km's for business

Got rudely awakened by two SMS’s from SARS around 8am this morning stating my "Statement of Account" has been issued. I only filed it yesterday afternoon. Fortunately/Unfortunately I don't have anything to claim. The only reason is I have to file for tax is I earn more than R120k.

Wonder if there is something more I can claim for to get more $$$ back.

Does anybody have the new CRA01, Confirmation of Entity Residential address form on file? SARS's is being bocked by Avast - js:Pdfka-AUG [Expl].

I have to take it and a bank stamped statement as proof of account.

Marvellous, bloody marvellous. What next?

Go to SARS office, stand in cue, pick up forms, go home, complete forms, go back to SARS office, stand in cue, get everything sorted, go home, wait for everything to be completed. And just for the hell of it, go freaking back to SARS office to do everything again!!

Yippy ka yay mutha**** - and yes, I did Google it.
