Teach children decent values - Tutu

Does anyone else imagine DreamKing as someone who is foaming from the mouth?

yes of course parent is the one factor but it is not the only factor.

who is in charge the education department?
what value is anc promoting?
what is the “good example” the anc government set to the public?

when anc cried about => "ban porn", "ban alcohol advert", "ban violence on TV" ..... on the other hand what they did? "browsing porn website during office hour", "promoting an employee can’t be fire even when he is drinking during working hour", "kicking the hawker in the public" ...... etc. is that nice for the children?

What a load of rubbish. Did you ever think those people turned out ok due to the strict dicipline that was enforced? The family values that were enforced?
I am not talking about the race part of it but look at that gvt, porn was banned, gambling banned etc etc.
I won't get into the drug issue or the illegal immigrant issue as it will just derail the thread.
There was law and order, again not talking about the racial law so let's keep it out.
Kids were taught dicipline now kids are tought that they can do whatever they like

Yes parents have some influence, but in the end blame must fall on the individual. As you say bad circumstances may have contributed, and it is certainly true the harm will vary for individuals in the same circumstances, but in the end we have to hold these individuals responsible for the choices they make.
 
It's absurd to blame the government for the values parents teach their children. Anyone who expects the government to raise their children should never criticise socialism. Because that's a radical socialistic idea.
 
OK, first of all, if you believe that every struggle figure automatically qualifies as the ANC, you're a moron. Two, Tutu is not a politician and he's offered plenty of criticism of the ANC over the years not just when the ANC denied the Dalai Lama entrence to the country. What exactly do you expect him to have done in the last 18 years?

My A.N.C ? Derail the topic ? The topic was derailing when your mind went off the tracks in the opening posts. The topic is you somehow quote tutu saying people should give their children better values and then start ranting about it being the A.N.C's fault, throwing in a few bits about the A.N.C promoting raping babies for good measure. Or something like that. I can't pretend to understanding the workings of the what passes for what would be described as the equivalent of your mind. :p

You just have a knack for derailing from the topic to make space for your nonsense... What's all that got to do with teaching your children good values. You just don't get it. You have no clue!

I grew up in KwaMashu township and we all know what happens there - all things bad... I saw people beating people up, young children dropping from school, teens having babies, people I considered role models being drunkards and raping... people getting shot and so forth, but at home ...

my PARENTS INSTILLED values of education, love, peace and success... And I would like to think that I turned out quite fine... passed matric 5 distinctions (township school), got a university degree, engaged to be married, I am employed, I have my own small side business and I respect people!

To say that the government was supposed to teach me all this is rubbish! Utter nonsense!

Personally, I think Tutu is a wonderful example of a good, kind, compassionate and decent human being.
Someone we should all look up to - I don't understand the hate people have for him.
You really can't get a better role model - he exemplifies all that is good, kind and forgiving in the world.
Seriously, techead, there is absolutely nothing retarded about him... you, on the other hand...

So, yes, call me a Tutu fanboi or whatever, but he is a better person than most of us on myBB will ever be...
