Step 1 - Install a cracked version of windows xp... dont install antivirus
Step 2 - Visit some porn and warez sites... get lots of keygens.exe and dialer.exe
Step 3 - Install them all
Step 4- You are now hacking... well... you are a bot for something like storm.. but for now... this is as close as you will ever get.

Maybe this "serious gamer" is actually a fake. Maybe when he is at the lan or on the server he going to try run a port scan on all the connected computers and thereby open their CD drives :D
 
I have the knowledge to do so - but I won't.

Unless it's an emergency and the luser's locked him/herself out of his/her PC, and I've got written permission, then I'll do it.

Otherwise I can't see the point of hacking into somebody else's PC, reading their email and so on.
 
Yes the net has tons of tutorials but a degree does help a lot in understanding better. Or alternatively download scripts and hope at prison they dont take a liking to you
 
What you want to do is not hacking per say, it is putting a trojan on someone's pc and remote controlling it via a network interface, say the internet.

So google for subseven and hope the "victim" doesn't have a decent Anti-Virus.

Or Code your own, get to grips with network coding, client/server, then to do all the nice things like open cd-rom, trun off mouse and screen and poping up messageboxes etc, study the Windows Api, then use something like MFC(Microsoft foundation Class) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Foundation_Class_Library (Visual C++) to code it, MFC will make it simpler than just normal API Coding which can be difficult and tedious.

It really is fun to code stuff like this, so good luck.

But please don't be lame!

Social Engineering is the next big thing. Security systems are getting stronger and social engineering will start to become the easiest way to hack. The latest Comcast hack involved social engineering. But then again this guy will get nowhere as a hacker. If you wanna learn how to hack then you have seen too many "hacker" type movies. Real life hacking is not as easy as typing reallyl fast and rotating a 3d box around like they do in sword fish.
 
I like to think that the average MyADSL forumite knows a thing or two w.r.t networks, Network securities, etc. ;)

The person in question, sounds like he doesn't really know how easy it is to trace a hacking attempt. If he's starting out, he's gonna get caught VER, VERY quickly.

It is also not very smart to illicit any help to hack, ON A PUBLIC FORUM ! :rolleyes:

His behaviour is perfectly normal, if we're talking about delinquents. I'm actually inclined to give him just enough info to get caught. I wanna read about it in the news!
 
I've recently build my own Fedora Core ISP VM and pulled every trick out of the hat to secure it. I'm talking about a firewalled-safesquid on a bootable cd (YOU TRY AND PUT A ROOTKIT ON THAT YOUNG LADDY!!) for my ISP machine, bastille, tripwire, chkrootkit, portsentry, avast, alot of encryption stuff, alot of digest stuff, etc... if you even knew what all the above meant, you wouldn't want to be a hacker, so go toddle off and play with your imaginary friend, i'm so sick and tired of Hollywood-Indoctrinated-wannab-hackers, get real, or get CAUGHT!!! Rather spend your time on becoming a good info sec expert, or digital investigator (if you really really want to "hack"), these jobs pay EXTREMELY well, so get your act together, finish school and learn to become a successfull contributor to society.
 
Learn VB... most VB programers are Hacks. ;)

Check out http://www.cyberarmy.net/ they have some games you can play.. .. there are a couple of site with servers setup you can try hack and you get a differ username and password for each level.... did these like 8years ago

Im only gonna do this cause you asked nicely..

First thing you gotta do is get one of those virtual reality head sets!

Next you need to get hold of the ip server address of a pentagon pc that is accessibly from the net.

Knowing their history, you will either get in with
admin,admin
root,root
user,

Then what you need to do, is face the mighty firewall demon that roams around the firewall.
Make sure you have plenty of health potions, and you should think about taking the cloak of agnor.. it is fire resistant.
The weapon you choose is up to you. When you have slain the demon, proceed to rocket jump over the wall

In a virtual reality world, directories look like big buildings, and the file structure as a whole looks like new york! find the big purple building with the sign "Nothing to see here" stickied all over it, they are the system files! Enter that building and take the lift to the 4th floor! Spray paint your logo on one of the walls just to let them know they have been had =P Capture the flag and get the hell outa there!!

If a hacker is running Vista as his desktop, its unlikely he could hack his way out of a wet paper packet.
