Hey people:) So today I bought a 8GB MicroSD SDHC memory card for my Sony Ericsson K850i. I put it in the phone and the phone picks it up fine and says "7599 MB free space". I also copied some mp3's over from my phone memory and it copied over fine.

My problem is that when I use the adapter (MicroSD - SD) in my PC card reader it doesn't read it, like the light on the card reader doesn't even go on. So I obviously first thought that it was the card reader, so I popped it into my laptop's card reader but it still doesn't work. I'm taking it back tomorrow (as it has a lifetime warranty).

What I actually want to know is, is TeamGroup inc (http://www.teamgroup.com.tw/teamgroup/en/productDetail.php?pd_id=314&pl1_id=5&pl2_id=38) a good manufacturer and are their products reliable?

How do they compare to SanDisk and Kingston?

Thanx :D

I had the same problem with my pc card reader, The card reader must be "MicroSD SDHC" compatible.

I went on www.bidorbuy.co.za and searched for a USB - MicroSD SDHC compatible reader and found 1 for under R100 inc postage and the card reader works nice

Thanx, this is really cool! I wonder If I can get something like this at esquire?

You can get a Sandisk branded and better looking TF reader like this from Vodashop Sandton city for R199 or R299, can't remember.:sick:

The SANDISK ones are less than that - R120 from CNA; even lower at a distributor. They also have a keychain attachment and can read SONY M2 cards.
{BTW An SE K850i should use Memory Stick Micro NOT microSD cards}

Good point, I didn't pay attention to his actual phone model but what he mentioned 'Microsd-SD'.

Do you guys think that WindowsXP SP3 can cause this because I wanted to go and buy a card reader within the next 40 mins but someone just told me that Service pack 3 can cause this?

I don't want to waste money if I don't need another card reader.

Ok guys, I got it working! I went and bought a cheap isonic usb card reader and the card works now! The speed is quite slow but aww well, not much I can do about that now.

In anyway, I couldn't find a class 6 MicroSD so I'm stuck to 4MB per sec transfer speed.

You would get class 6 with the ULTRA range of Sandisk. The others are mostly class 4 or 2. The ultras also come bundled with a card reader for sdhc and m2.
