I have fibre (Vuma/ Axxess, 50/5) but am getting very slow speeds and the connection drops when I'm in my office which is a bit further away from the wifi router. I have an old DLink wifi router. I bought a TP Link C60 to replace it, and I can't get it to work. When I take out the ethernet cable from the Dlink and plug into the TP Link, the internet light on the TP Link remains red. I've checked all the settings (it's DHCP), and it picks up an IP address, but no connection. Plug the same ethernet to the Dlink and all works great. The TP-links works if I plug it into the Dlink as an 'extra' modem (internet light goes green and I can connect), but then suffers the same slow speeds as the Dlink.

Hours on hold with Axxess have not resulted in any advice other than 'reset the router' and turn it all off and on again. Anyone have ideas why the TP link won't connect to the internet via the fibre modem, but will connect via the Dlink? I had this problem when I swopped out routers before and Axxess at that time did something on their end and it all worked. But can't get any useful help from their tech support this time.

PPPOE details correct on the TP Link?
If you have no PPPOE details then it could be that Axxess have the Dlink MAC address as accepted on their side and not the TP Link MAC Address

Does Vumatel not attach to the mac address of the old router?

If your tp link has an option let it spoof the dlink mac address otherwise Axxess needs to request the mac address to be released so the new router can work.

Vumatel user here, I swapped my old router with a new one without needing any PPOE or MAC address details. It should just require that you plug the cable from the CPE device, into the blue WAN port on the C60.

edit: I see the C60's may label the blue port as "Internet"

I think that's probably it. I will see if I can spoof the dlink mac address first, as I'm not getting any joy from Axxess. Thank you!

Vuma using DHCP, so there aren't PPPOE details. Must be the MAC address. Thank you!

Thanks everyone, I managed to clone the MAC address after Axxess couldn't figure out how to change it on their end. Working perfectly now. Much appreciated!

They need to log it with Vumatel I believe or there is a portal not sure but yeah they need to do it from their side.

Thanks -- turns out the problem was with Axxess, not Vumatel.

It's shocking that Axxess couldn't figure it out, but glad you are up and running despite that.
