Ted Lassoes the Sun!

So see my first 'bug' in Home Assistant since the second battery was installed. Somehow the Battery SOC Sensor is stuck at 50% which is what it was when there was only one battery in the system.

The Solar Assistant MQTT is showing stats for two batteries re voltage,temp, cycles, etc

So super confused what I should be doing here. Restarted Solar Assistant -- no change.

Maybe wait until they are accepting 0A current.
 
So all I had to do was restart HA fully. Restarting MQTT , SA, etc did nothing. The clue was that all sensors last update was 09:36AM

One thing i saw on inverter was charge Amps is set to 100A. Should it be 200? In any case, the batteries both charged to 100% using solar including other loads, so that was nice :)20230504_221418.jpg

So all I had to do was restart HA fully. Restarting MQTT , SA, etc did nothing. The clue was that all sensors last update was 09:36AM

One thing i saw on inverter was charge Amps is set to 100A. Should it be 200? In any case, the batteries both charged to 100% using solar including other loads, so that was nice :)View attachment 1519155
5000W divide 48V = 104A, so each battery will get 50A.
 
Today marks 1 year since the install with 4.36kWp panels + 1 x Hubble AM2 (joined by a brother in May this year).

Stats:
Total Utilisation: 8990.7 kWh
PV Generated: 6071 kWh
Batteries Charged : 1981 kWh
Batteries Discharged: 1606 kWh
Grid Used: 3686 kWh

Changes to the environment is that we have two extra long term guests in our home this year, so they have contributed to extra load for geysers, heating - but that's cool. They leave by end of this year.

Touch wood: our hubbles seems to be behaving.

Changes I would make if I was staying: Adding another 8-9 x 550w panels to the house would seriously put a dent in our eskom usage as with the two hubbles, we can run overnight and all workloads would be easily managed by the PV them during the day (geysers, pool, etc) without needing to dip into Eskom as it does on not so great sunny day.

You're a brave man charging at 160amps lol
 
Well they are Hubbles, so can support 200A charge/discharge.

I am allowing the batteries to hopefully last longer by limiting discharging / charging rate

That's a bit on the low side, even at 0.5C you could do 50A per battery so 150A in total. You're running your batteries at 0.25C lol...
