Tekken 6 PS3 exclusivity doubtful

There's a number of titles we were hoping to witness at this year's E3 Media & Business Summit, but it looks as though their creators chose to wait a bit longer before showcasing them. Tekken 6 is one of these games. The new installment in Namco Bandai's famous 3D fighting series is in development for the PlayStation 3.

Speaking in a recent interview with GameEX Magazine, Bandai's Haruki Suzaki uncovered that Tekken 6 is slated to hit retailers during December 2008. He was also asked if the game will be a PS3-exclusive. To this he replied: "No, It hasn't been determined yet as of the moment."

The game was released in Japanese arcades on November 26, 2007. This should make PS3 owners happy, albeit an Xbox 360 version would be a welcomed sight indeed.

Still could be, but highly doubtful. Probably be a timed thing though, I believe the Arcade version runs on PS3 hardware.
 
Yup - had it on my PS1 and PS2 ... and was a reason I wanted PS3. If they launch it on 360, I'd get it ...
 
tekken is a damn fine fighting game,I hope they bring it to xbox,have you guys seen how sweet the Faceplate you get with Soulcaliber looks, i'm definitely getting me one of those!
 
I'll only get it as 2nd hand - R159 normally at cash crusaders.
There are too many other games coming out that are WAAAAYYYY above tekken for buying at the moment.

Tekken does seem pretty bland, Fable 2 and gears 2 and DOW 2 are already
gonna break the bank for me.
 
exactly...going to be a very expensive year for me...just to mention:
Fable 2 - definite
Fallout 3 - review dependent
Unfinite Undiscovery - definite
Last Remnant - review dependent
Gears of War 2
Spore - if i have money left :(
 
There so many good games I want, Civ Rev, Soul Calibre, C&C etc etc

But I can't see a point in buying them as all I'm playing at the moment, and for the foreseeable future, is Battlefield!
 
dude after ffxiii lost its exclusivity, i just dnt care any more.....foooooook u spongefob squarenix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back on topic, come to think of it, who'd really want Tekken (or VF for that matter) when we've got DOA and Soul Calibre.

The chics are waaaaaay hotter . . . . . ;)

I enjoyed DOA (a lot more skill involved in just finishing the game than the usual button mashing that'll get you by in Tekken), but I'd just like to see Tekken (along with MGS4) hit the 360 to stop the PS3 fanboys from citing certain "killer franchises" every time there is an argument over consoles (as we've seen even in discussions about hardware capabilities).

Likewise I'd have no problem with the 360's exclusives finding their way to the PS3.
