I could not be bothered to change someone else's mind for them. It's the same reason I gave up with trying to convince people you don't need to buy a Samsung smartphone and that there are better priced products out there that will fulfill their needs 100% ;)

Agreed. Some people are just set in their ways, that's just the way it is. I don't mind having both on my phone, nor is it a crime for others to prefer the tried and trusted.

I've got 127 contacts on Telegram. Yes, you bastards just made me count.. -.-
Started the "educating" people in town early in 2014, showing them why it's a far better messenger than Whap and Whatnot, especially for businesses.

While it was really slow going at first and only friends and family, the people whom I converted have all started converting their friends and families too, so lately I've been getting more and more notifications of contacts "Now using Telegram" which wasn't my doing. (Yes, my contact list is pretty big - lots of clients/contacts, and 99% of people in town.)

How many contacts do you have on Telegram which have absolutely no business relations to you?

Also, that town is obviously not in Gauteng.

All my Telegram contacts are either friends, good acquaintances or clients - of those 127 I'd say about 40 are friends without business relations.
Also, yes - Southern cape.

The people here seem very agter die klip. I was chatting to someone about Telegram a while ago and they asked me if that wasn't what they used to use before faxes?

True story. But then again this is PE, and we are a few years behind :D

It will remain unchanged until you do something about it. As I mentioned above, I was the first among my friends and family and now most of us use Telegram primarily. It's easy to switch people to a superior platform.

I read there is beta app in playstore. Once you have that, you then need to change it to another backend to enable calls. You then also have to be given a call by someone that already has the feature. I followed the chat but thought it is just easier to wait for the main release :)

yeh, got the beta installed now, but poo, still no call functionality.... will just keep waiting.

I had a guy from Western Europe call me to activate voice calling in my Telegram. Anyone who wants a ring from me to activate theirs just PM your Telegram username & make sure you're publicly searchable.

I see it has a feature also to limit data usage when on a call. You can choose either always, or only when on mobile broadband. Nice.

Lol it might have been for nothing. Friend of mine called me on Telegram now and had never received a call before. Second Telegram update just now might have unlocked calling for everyone.
