Telkom’s huge fixed-line headache

Telkom dont roll out lines on newly developed areas. They force you onto their wireless while fighting other parties that want to roll out lines. Its probly best to skip to fibre to home though..
 
The way Telkom is behaving affordable uncapped LTE would make more sense than ADSL.
 
Really wish Telkom's ADSL Services were faster... the minimum speed should be 10Mbps and not 2Mbps...

Cell C GigaNite 20 costs R199 a month, and it includes 5GB peak + 15GB off peak data.... Cell C gives me speeds of between 2 - 9Mbps (there are times where speed is shockingly slow). I am sure my GigaNite 20 works out to be cheaper than 2Mbps ADSL + Line Rental + ADSL Data Account.

We should have 10Mbps / 20Mbps / 40Mbps / 100Mbps - 2Mbps as the minimum is depressing :(
 
Telkom Mobile and FTTH / FTTB is certainly growing fast in my view. Aggressive marketing... Good offering - pity poor support and billing. I still believe they can hold the cards in the near future.

Is there VDSL in East London?? Also, what is happening with the Fibre cables that were laid almost all over town?? I think DFA laid them... are they being used? Can they be used?

Last I used the coverage map on Telkom's website, I am sure I saw VDSL was in a "planned" state... for Vincent, at least.
 
Quite a significant decline, but many are moving to the alternative Telkom services still. Kind of balances out
