Telkom’s network sabotaged

I'm willing to bet some were MyBB members tho... only because it's the largest forum of it's kind in SA of course ;)

Any acts of vandalism and sabotage will be fully investigated and perpetrators will be dealt with through the criminal justice system,” said Mokoena.

Well then they're pretty safe! We all know nothing happens to criminals.

Ahh, so that's why my connection is barely functional...

Totally my fault, sorry guys.

Telkom says it has noted that there are acts of vandalism and sabotage being carried out against it

Noe Schitt-Sherlock.
His name is Rueben September. He is the biggest source of rampant sabotage being carried out against Telkom (and by extension: the country.) Go get him, stick him in jail right next to Allan Knott-Speak.

Is anyone else perturbed by the sensationalist headline for this article?

The article hardly gives any attention to the "network sabotage" at all.
While I really enjoy reading MyBB articles, but these kinds of unwarranted headlines that are so regularly used purely to "sell newspapers" may land up damaging the sites reputation, as has happened with other media.

To the MyBB staff writers/editors - keep doing the brilliant job that you doing, I just ask that you stay away from unwarranted, sensationalist headlines when they're clearly unneccessary - such as in this case.

So are you implying that no sabotage occurred? On what do you base it?

Not implying that at all... just saying that:

1) The article mentions nothing about Telkoms NETWORK being sabotaged (just it's property - which could be anything from a fence in front of their offices, or a Telkom payphone - or someone may have keyed one of the company cars.

2) If the headline of the article is "Telkom Network Sabotaged", one expects the article to have a significant portion dedicated to this? I'd say a more appropriate headline would be "Yet another article about the striking Telkom workers, with a few words about alleged company property sabotage thrown in at the end"

Sensationalism - (is myBB becoming the mouth piece of the enemy?)

Is anyone else perturbed by the sensationalist headline for this article?
I spotted it too... Shark invested custard...

“While attempting to maintain affordable employee costs within the context of current global and domestic economic realities, Telkom has always been cognisant of the necessity to preserve jobs and serve our customers optimally. Under these difficult economic times, Telkom has nonetheless offered all bargaining unit staff a two-year moratorium on forceful retrenchments,” said Mokoena.

/me sniff, sniff... Manure... 100% genuine SA elephant Bull ****... What is "context of current global and domestic economic realities"
Telkom also confirmed that it has seen malicious damage to its property. “Telkom has disappointingly noted that there are acts of vandalism and sabotage being carried out against the Company. Any acts of vandalism and sabotage will be fully investigated and perpetrators will be dealt with through the criminal justice system,” said Mokoena.
Oh my golly goodness gracious me... One paragraph of the entire article relates to the article title... Fail.

The article thread is titled "Telkom strike and damage."

Oh well. Nevemind. There is a seprate article - "Telkom strike to continue"

whilst I almost found it in my heart to feel sorry for them,
I resisted the urge, 'cos I knew this was just another of
their long list of tactics to make me cough up more for
their services - and I use that term very lightly! :D

Its typical Telkom, the say something but tell you nothing - they have a great fondness for nothing, as they have given it to us for years
