Hey there all.

I was considering (Note "considering") getting a second adsl account through telkom internet. I have a 5 gig with webafrica, but I had a free TI account before and they let me go quite a bit over the cap. But I was checking out prices etc on their site and it seems they want to charge me 400 bucks or something, just to sign up for a 2 gig ac****. Is that right?

Take out another WA account, don't waste your time with telscum, the frustration is too much to bare ;)

yeah, I thought about that, but webafrica need to protect themselves so you can't go over your cap with them. (And that's fine. They have to pay telkom, after all.) BUt with a 2 gig account I used to get 10 gig out of it.

You must be looking at an unshaped account or something. The 3 gig accounts are around R240 IIRC so the 2 gig ones should be less.

yeah 2GB accounts are R199 as the website says. I personally use 2x 3GB just cause I have no real experience with the 2GB

Yeah, I was looking at the 199 unshaped, but on the site it says something about paying an activation fee. That's the four hundred I was talking about.

The R199 is for 2gig shaped not unshaped and AFAIK the is no activation fee

Hmm. I must be reading it wrong. It's probably for an actual ADSL installation. The fee mentioned is 437 rand. Is that the price for an adsl installation?
