Telkom 2G network gone?

Out of interest I set my phone to 2G and both telkom prepaid and data sim cards do not connect. Telkom's network doesnt show when scanning manually. Did they switch it off already or is it just me? I recall using it in 2021 albeit not to do much.

I actually noticed this when a 2G only phone had no service but I didn't really pay much attention to it thinking it might be tower or phone related. It's just a spare sim I don't use much.

Seems like they switched off their own 2G first and then cut the 2G roaming also.

Didn't Telkom switch off its 2G service months ago already?

Possible. It was supposed to be switched off March 2020 but was still on for way longer than that.

I actually only just recently noticed it since I don't use Telkom just have a spare sim around.

Forgot to edit earlier, I got a native telkom 2g signal, though it is very low gain or non existent. They must have switched off a tower nearby where I live as it used to be a stronger signal.

When I do a manual scan I only get Vodacom, MTN and CellC 2G broadcasted most of the time.
