Telkom 4MBPS is dog slow

Hey guys. For the past few days my 4Mbps adsl has been dog slow. Youtube videos are taking 1 hour to load like 5 minutes of video. The transfer speeds are like 10 KB/s. Unacceptable considering how much I am paying for this service. What do I do?

seems to be everyone, not just telkom. anyhow try:
Tools > Options > Advanced > Network Tab > Settings > Choose Manual Proxy Configuration > enter cache.saix.net 8080

Also maybe check on your modem at what rate you're syncing to the exchange.

I've had enough

Syncing at 4096. Speeds are 150 Kbit/s which translates to about 18kb/s. I had faster speeds when I was running Vodacom 3g like 5 years ago. I'm paying a hefty R560 for my internet and I can't even watch a video on youtube. Telkom guys are clueless. What do I do?

Well answer to your problem

Its The Saix DNS' which are making our dsl go extremely slow cause i have same problem and all led to the Saix DNS after testing every possible thing it could be.

Now the Problem is how do we get saix to fix their DNS' when telkom is so clueless

Browsing international sites very slow at the moment. Changed to OpenDNS, makes no difference. Just slowwww, some sites simply don't load at all. Local sites load fine.

Ok got hold of telkom and they now aware after telling them for a few days about the problem in saix exchange with the Saix DNS' they not sure when its going to be fixed but at least they know about it now

My line is also super slow and my ping on games have gone down the drain (ping problems only before 6pm though. Get like 2800ms instead of the usual 360ms).

thats mine using 4 mbit line and going half the speed as normal

When i try different proxy to the DNS Saix Proxy suddenly my speed doubles so theres a problem with their proxy they using

Can confirm that my ADSL line (384k) is also hond stadig. Even the unshaped I'm getting 1k ping's
