Telkom reveals fixed-5G pricing

Telkom has revealed coverage and pricing details for its uncapped fixed-5G products, starting from R878 a month for a three-year contract.

Telkom's pricing is relatively high compared to the rest of the fixed-5G field. However, it should be noted that pricing includes the router, which isn't free to use and becomes the customer's property at the contract's end.

Telkom's coverage map is very unstable.

FOR FAAAAAAAAARK SAKES!!!!!!

"Telkom’s fixed-5G products are available on two and three-year contracts and are subject to the network operator’s fair usage policy (FUP).

On the 50Mbps Unlimited 5G product, Telkom will reduce speeds to 4Mbps once a 500GB threshold is reached."

FUP and Threshold Throttling are TWO COMPLETELY different things.
This offering cannot be promoted as uncapped!
Grrrrrrr!

High_price + FUP + 3_year_contract + poor_coverage = ?

I wonder if you've been given a jump in speed? My Octotel fibre has been doubled for three months...
Double would be 200Mb. I think it's bandwidth allocation issue again.

@AfriNatic will AH be selling some kind of Telkom 5G package in the near future?

It is uncapped. It's just throttled. They don't promote anywhere that it's unshaped.

Is Rain's unlimited 5G throttled after a certain amount of data usage?
Please read my post and the article again.
The issue is with the terminologies... Uncapped and Throttling after X amount of data usage, cannot be simultaneously implemented in an offering, as these conditions are mutually exclusive.

MTN's Hime uncapped have the same *Limitations* on their offerings.
Just they throttle you a little harder. They also have a Lower FUP at a lower price.

You're conflating capping and throttling.

As example, I have a 25mbps uncapped fibre line. But it is throttled to 25mbps. Surely there is no problem with that?
