Telkom abusing Winston

haha... I don't blame them... they can get a lot of mileage from that. Turn something negative into something positive.

hmm, good luck with that. As far as I know there is no copyright on the name Winston or on the cartoon image they have used. They could claim it was their own idea... and even if a similarity is drawn between the company that first did the experiment and Telkom's branding... the ASA would ask if there is any restriction on using the logo or the artwork or the name.

Kinda ballsy of Telkom to take the pigeon by the feathers and make their own promotion out of it.

and anyway, it would not be very difficult for Telkom to show how the entire experiment was flawed in the first place, they might relish the opportunity.

I fail to see what their use of the "Winston" has to do with their denial of being the ISP involved? What is the causal connection? What is the relevance? Where is the damage to the viewing public? How will they be prejudiced?
 
All I see is a tongue in cheek response to what was a tongue in cheek demonstration.

They're trying to say that if you upgrade to their DO3 package then you will have Fast internet (as fast as Winston) and all your problems will go away. BULL. I have 4mbps, my line syncs at 4mbps and I can't even watch a freaking youtube video. Very very angry at the moment because R560 is not cheap for internet.

That settles it. We're on Do2 and had similar issues which we thought would be resolved with D03.
