Sheesh, glad it's not just me. Got a real fright when I checked my stats just now.

70GB in 1 day? I think not.

Hopefully they will fix the problem asap, as I would hate to have to fight telkom about R1900 extra on my bill.

allow me to cast your memories back to when Afrihost first launched. remember that first month their capper didn't work either? we were all like 'if an isp doesn't cap me it's not my problem' but what happened the following month?

I cannot remember what happened... did they do the whole "minus" usage? As in any gigs you bought were depleted against your "previous" month's usage?

yep, exactly that. you stayed capped until you bought enough topups to zero the negative.
i actually hope they'll let it slide again, least for the ppl who didn't go ape. but you agree the 10megabit rapist who's done over 300 gig with his 1gB account should not get away with it?
just want it fixed before month end, else my local only exploit for next month won't work :)

they know its just that they have not been able to fix it... well they tried on fryday but did not get it right.. the only thing i noticed this morning is that i was havely shaped on my 384 line the max i could pull was 16 kb/s

If it is their job to cap me, and they don't.... whose "fault" is that exactly? :p

I love that local exploit... haven't done it in quite some time... Do you do this on a regular basis?

On HTTP downloads or P2P? I'm getting normal performance on my account... Only doing NNTP and HTTP though.

Looks like there's a complete meltdown going on with Telkom's usage tracking.

Me wonders which might be correct if any? I sense a Telkom disaster bill on its way... whats new?

Am still connected to the account and haven't topped up? Wat is going on?

i try, but things don't always go according to plan, gotta love those 30 second power failures. heard of folks wiring a car battery and charger up to the router

Jikes. I went for the UPS route. Modded a multiplug and plugged it into the UPS - running my router from it now. Works like a charm.

when my router crashed yesterday the guy at telkom tells me i am capped so i tell him he is wrong and telkom have messed up the system and i am not capped. he changed his song very fast. i told one of the other guys that i am on the BIGGEST forum in the world and they better not mess with me (ok maybe not in so many words) but i did let them know that telkom has messed with other subscribers too.

My other Telkom account is now also screwed up.

It really looks as if their usage tracking systems have melted down completely !

This is quite strange behavior, from Telkom on a normal day they would have fixed this by now. The management are probably going to suffer from heart failure when they find out how much GBs were given away for free.

I was hesitant to post for the reasons others have mentioned but I think by now Telkom is surely aware of the balls up. I'd love to know exactly how and why this happened, and why it's taken so long to resolve (well, me and I'd guess all of Telkom senior management).
poor Telkom. I guess this makes up for all the other **** we have to put up with from them (sort of, not really). So since last Friday my main account was running uncapped. Yesterday I realized I still have 2 unused accounts for the rest of the month, so today I switched from the uncapped to a 5 gig with an aim to kill the 5gigs today (what can I say, I hate wasting). Well mission accomplished and then some, because the 5 gig account is already past 6 :D

what happens if its still uncapped next month, then they got the cheapest uncapped in the country lol :)
