Telkom ADSL Line Move

Hi,

Does anyone know how long it takes Telkom to move an ADSL line from one address to another? I'm planning on moving in the next few months and will need my line moved as well. I hardly believe anything Telkom tells me, so if anyone's been through this experience it'll help.

If you know the dates you can apply now. Make sure you get a ref number.

Follow up weekly.

Make sure that they do NOT disconnect your current line immediately - it has been known to happen!

TIP: If you have to cancel your old number, be damn careful and double-check that the person you're canceling with does not go and cancel your new number.

I am still trying to sort out the mess they created in April when they canceled my new line instead of my old line, the resulting confusion that this caused would make a grown war veteran cry, never mind me being out of pocket to the tune of over R1400 so far because of further bungling and abuse at the old premises. At least the old line is finally actually canceled now.
