This is more of a moan than anything. I'm so dam frustrated with all the broadband offerings in SA at the moment.
I recently moved to a lovely smallholding a mere 6km from my previous house in the suburbs. Although its "rural", I surrounded by business's including Amatola water, Calgary Museum and many many family homes ect ect. There is no 3g neither has Telkom bothered to upgrade the exchange in the last decade. I've spoken to many of the business's around and all have the same experience. People want/need broadband, we aren't even that far from "town". 6km? Thats nothing. Everybody gets shoved from pillar to post. One chap I was speaking too said he is still waiting for ISDN!!
Anybody have any ideas how to stick a firecracker up Telkoms butt? There is also a huge informal settlement with 9 schools in it. A few months ago I read about Telkoms "drive" to get ADSL into every household in SA. They dont seem to be "driving" anywhere at the moment. You cannot get a committed answer from anybody just "phone back in 6 months and try again".
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
