Telkom aims for better customer service

Guess they've figured out it can't get worse.

Maybe they should change it to "Telkom aims for customer service "

Telkom wouldnt know customer service if it bit them on the arse.

Current Level of Customer Service is 0%.

If by "improved customer" service they mean starting my day with a laugh, then they have succeeded :D.

Telkom's customer service has improved dramatically over the last year or so. If I phone to report a fault, before the call is ended, I receive an SMS with the reference number. The problem is usually resolved within 24-36hrs, which is a vast improvement.

I'm not sure many of you recall what it was like 10 years ago, when it took 2-3 weeks just to get a technician out just to come and have a look at the line, let alone fix it.

The very next day I get a call from Telkom checking whether the line is working.

Telkom are on the right track with their customer service, however, I feel they need to focus more on their products, i.e. higher caps, and higher speeds

Telkom Customer Service you say

Morning Mr. CEO. Well, could you please ask your ADSL team, why I have spend 2 hours (on the line)in the last week just to activate my ADSL port at exchange. The funny part is that your division confirmed that I can activate my service, everything is in order. I had to buy CAP from my ISP, I will start to pay for it but no benefit of the service.
If managers start to promise they will phone you back and they don't, the problem is not only to UP your customer service, but Mr. CEO, your staff needs to understand that the commitment starts with them.
All I can say is, good luck. You have set yourself a massive challenge......

Customer disservice

Harumph!

Spent 44 minutes holding before anyone answered on the ADSL call centre yesterday evening. As long as there is no serious competition to Telkom, they will not care about screwing their customers.

The poor call centre agent, who finally took my call, explained that in the two years she has been working on the ADSL call centre, management have not done anything to address the inadequate staffing levels on the call centre. She stopped short of directly stating that she believed that her management did not care about service delivery.

Telkom said that competitive pricing was another way of enhancing its customer centric drive.

The ONLY way IMHO. I can handle having to sit on the phone for 2 hours once every 10 months maybe, but paying a lot less every month is what will make me like telkom more ("more" being mathematically impossible to equate as my "liking of Telkom" is at an infinately low level)

They are all with exception to the one or two that have actually received training utterly useless and I am talking here worse than the clueless drones at the trafic department, home affairs and all other state departments for that matter.

I mean how can you put people in the call centres who have not completed training and cannot access half of the information needed to cancell simple things as internet accounts.

F@cking MORONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\

THE END

/runs off to take prozak

I reckon we will be seeing some changes from telkom in the near future
Things must be starting to bite over there. Competition closing in from all sides. consumers baying for their blood.. graffiti on the wall etc...

Telkom aims for better service, but sadly misses - if only they knew where to aim. There call centre is a joke, waiting for hours for someone that cannot help you anyway is as far removed from service as you get - and a little while back I had to look into an issue were it took two weeks to fix a doctor's home line, for what was a simple cable fault on the pole
